a four-year-old has shot and killed a police officer's wife at a tennessee
cookout authorities say that a four-year-old boy grab the loaded gun in
a family cookout and accidentally shot and killed the wife of the tennessee
sheriff's deputy
investigators say
that's and
uh... the the officer
named daniel fanning was showing his weapons to a relative in a bedroom of
his home
when it's hard work and then
picked up a got off the bed
and discharge the gun hitting forty eight-year-old josephine fanning the
wife of the sheriff's deputy
she was pronounced dead at the scene
the child is not related louis to the uh... the woman to the deceased or her
husband
there was just uh... a random toddler well not random in the sense that
presumably somebody there knew who he with the top of all rhetoric uh... zero
tolerance not some type of uh... assassin i don't think so aka the
shooting was
uh... conveys being isetan accident now when i said how i don't consider the
term accident to really be valid it's it's really negligent discharge of a
firearm
in this case since it is a kid
i think we could say that the firing of the gun may well have been an accident
but certainly the gun being on on the bed would be negligence in terms of
taking care of your weapon
of course completely negligent on on behalf of the firearm owners are this is
this was not the deputies service weapon so it wasn't the the weapon that he
carries on his on duty
and that normally the weapons are stored
is safe now i have just in very basic questions here if a train police officer
can make a mistake like this
it really makes me wonder whether it's a good idea for every team that are in
america to have guns in their house
more we know that
just and the other thing we have to address is
this story is completely in surprise
right there's there's a couple of these a day and every once in awhile we cover
then we don't cover every single one it would be the whole show
this is america today
we're not at all surprised by the story
uh...
yak bar and i don't know what else add to it i mean this is really it just
seems when you look at the big picture like a completely
distill pick uh... society what can we say the deputy sheriff had a gun over
that it was his gun has again it depends on
the deputy should have had a backup gun to defend himself from his own gun
bob i don't know i don't know how out what we can even say here
i mean are the only thing um... art
a gun advocate can say is that
this was just it negligence and that he he failed in his duties to
keep his guns out a preacher of of children guy i don't think we can see
much more in that it does make me think what would happen if every teacher had
guns in their pocket during class to the party venue recast now
total chaos
