Welcome to the Vitalife show. I'm doctor Janine Bowring
and today we're talking about how to improve your eyesight naturally
so their different causative reasons as to why your eyesight may be failing
especially
as you age but I see this with young children as well, bad habits
unfortunately in are
technological age now with all these gadget that kids are using
is putting a real strain on your eyes so I will be sharing
towards the end of the video some great eye exercises for both children and adults
you can do to really strengthen the muscles in the eye and really improved
the eye sight so stay tuned for that so first and foremost avoid the
straining
especially if your eyes are always focused at the same distance, so whether this
is a computer screen, your phone, or a tablet
this is really you know causing undue stresses
on the muscles because the muscles have to stay contracted at that very same
length for
an extended period of time what happens over time is that this
actually weakens the eye sight we want to avoid this as much as possible
a course make sure that there's always enough light, so the old wives tale t
that you know if you're reading in a dim room that it's bad for your eyes it's
true I always
encourage as much light as possible specially when you're using your eyes to focus
to read to or to do whatever you know electronic that you're doing the
kids playing the games
make sure you know for not extended periods of time and that there's enough
light in the room and course if your eyes are tired then listen to your body
if your eyes are getting tired you need to rub your eyes you can't focus so well
anymore then give your eyes
a break seems that you know to simple to be true but that
you know your body is telling you to take that break so you should do that
so in the diet what's really important and what's lacking and
you know especially the North American diet that we're not getting enough
nutrient-dense food so fresh fruits and vegetables are so important especially
for certain group of antioxidant called carotenoids and
this includes lutein and beta carotene so things
such as broccoli kale spinach these are really high and lutein
which has been proven scientifically to help with
natural eyesight improvement so that's really important
Bilberry is a herb as well that used a lot in Europe for improving
the eyesight
say it in research studies have proven and it is very helpful for helping the eyesight
so

Do it at your own speed because if you do too quickly may start to feel a
little bit
dizzy so that exercise number one great for
improving strengthen the muscles around the eye now the next one is the focusing
exercise I want you to focus on something close to you so you can just
hold your finger up
you know about a foot away from your eyes and then pick something in the distance
so you know about five to 10 feet away from you
and what you're going to do is focus first on the close object to your
finger
and then on the far away object and you hold it for about three seconds
each position. Always focusing on that same spot
close and the far what this does it also helps to strengthen
those muscles around the eyes but also the focusing muscles and this can
dramatically improve the eyesight as well so do that about 20 times
and you know once or twice a day is great if you can again to strength that eyesight
and the last one is to focus on an object. So again about a foot away
from your eyes and it can be your finger or a pencil or anything that
can be grab easy around you
your going to focus but now you're going to move that object
as far as your arm can reach from back and forth
always maintaining focus on
that object and again this helps with the strengthening
of those muscles or focus
do this again about 20 times you can do both fingers so
on this side or this side or straight in front of you
