The daughter of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was held at gunpoint in London
Monday night, according to police.
Twenty-five-year-old Kathryn Blair was reportedly walking her dog with her boyfriend around
8:30 p.m. Two men, one armed with a gun, reportedly demanded cash and jewelry before suddenly
fleeing empty-handed. (Via The Telegraph)
Thankfully, both Blair and her boyfriend walked away unscathed, though a little shocked. Police
believe the suspects, both male, are linked to another nearby attempted robbery.
According to a statement, on both occasions: "A firearm was seen but not used — no shots
were fired ... None of the victims were injured and nothing was stolen." (Via Sky News)
Police have not made any arrests at this stage. The attack has raised concerns over the Blair
family's security. Tony Blair was the British leader during the Iraq War and is still a
peace envoy to the Middle East.
A security expert told The Express: "It seems staggering that the daughter of [a] man who
evokes such extreme emotions in some should be wandering around in the dark at night without
protection ... Thankfully she came to no harm but the potential terrorism threat is obvious.''
Guns are tightly controlled by law in the United Kingdom and the country has one of
the lowest rates of gun homicide in the world.

brother, Euan , to Suzanne Ashman. (Via BBC)
Kathryn Blair became a lawyer last year, following in both of her parents' footsteps.
