My refrigerator is making gurgling noises. I didn't know that was even possible!
It is not only possible, it happens more often than you might realize.
What could be causing this? It is the weirdest thing ever.
The gurgling noise may be the freon moving through the lines. Have you checked the coils
to see if they are frozen or not?
They appear to be partially frozen.
Have you tried unplugging the fridge to see what happens?
I have, and it simply starts gurgling again after awhile.
Try leaving it unplugged overnight and allow the coils enough time to thaw out.
When you plug it back in the morning check to see if it is still making the gurgling
noise.
I hope it is not. It really freaks me out.
Lots of times as I mentioned, freon gets trapped in the lines. This can cause a gurgling sound
to happen.
It could also be air trapped in the lines. I hate to say this, but if you are low on
freon, or have a problem with your refrigerator being overcharged, you will need a repairman
because the refrigerator will soon stop cooling.
You will probably need a trained technician, because this is a hard repair to perform at
home.
The fact that your coils are half frozen is indicating a problem with the evaporator.
You will need someone who knows what they are doing to check it out.
Moan and groan. Do you have any idea how much that will cost?
Well, I know it will be expensive, but you may just have to budget that in.
My wallet is complaining. It is already empty.
Well, sorry about that kid, but sometimes we just need to bite the bullet.
