Hello everyone,
OK, here we are with the Galaxy Note 2 Flip Cover
Just picked one up today
£29.99 so at that kind of price you're looking at the
high end of cases.
So let's have a look, and see what we are getting for our money.
A box
A piece of cardboard
A plastic tray, and a cover.
Now...quite sturdy,
nice inside
kind of faux
material I suppose you could call it.
Slightly soft, like a chamoix, quite nice.
Then you've got the actual inside back cover there
which actually has for the Galaxy Note 2 Flip Cover an nfc connector.
So rather than having nfc in the battery, you've actually now got it in the back cover instead
meaning that you can more easily get battery covers than you can batteries
and it's been given
a piece of
keep-it-shiny plastic on the back.
So, let's pop the old cover off this one
get your nail into there
and prise.
There's the old back cover
you can see there the nfc chip.
Now, fitting this should be a simple task
just like the old cover
of clipping it into place.
Make sure it's clipped all the way round
and solid. Actually that felt like it went on better and with less flex
than the old cover which to me never quite felt
like the poppers were clicking in properly.
So, then, what are we left with, well
a device that is not
that much thicker for starters.
You're only adding a millimetre or so to the overall size.
Galaxy Note 2 Flip Cover hasn't really changed the weight and feel of the phone too much, I have to say.
I think that's actually really really good for a case.
It's nice to be able to still feel the outside edges
and being able to get to your buttons nice and easily. I picked up a case for an S3
for a friend the other day, and it's one of those gel ones, it's awful,
this actually feels well designed and well made. Well done Samsung.
Really really tough,
actually feels like the case
almost has grip so as soon as it touches the screen, I don't know if they've got a magnet in there,
it feels like it's actually pulling towards the screen to keep it closed.
Yes, definitely, I think there's a magnet in there
because also
it just feels like it's resisting a little bit when you try and lift the top off.
Excellent.
Hasn't really added anything on to this left hand side, really, just this connector
basically that runs from the new back cover, oops, hasn't quite gone on properly,
at that top corner, to the front.
Nice Samsung labelling on the Galaxy Note 2 Flip Cover.
The material's quite nice actually, very impressed.
It would appear that, let's just try this, when you actually lift this,
it does nothing,
which is a shame, I was hoping it would actually turn my screen on.
So let's just try and see if it unlocks my display.
No, I have a feeling I'm sure there is a setting somewhere for being able to
turn the screen on and undo the lock
as soon as you open the case but even so
Galaxy Note 2 Flip Cover not bad for £29.99
I have to say.
Not bad at all. Well done Samsung.
