This is John McDonald of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Did you know that smoke alarms are the first line
of the defence against a deadly fire?
But they can't protect us if they don't work.
Smoke alarms won't last forever.
Test your alarms at least once a month
and replace the batteries every year.
If your alarm is more than ten years old,
install a new one. Test your alarm for life.
This message is brought to you by the Fire Marshal's
Public Fire Safety Council and the Toronto Blue Jays.
