YOUNG WOMAN: Ready to tackle the starburst?
Let's start with the border.
First, choose your border color.
For this bracelet, we chose black.
This pattern uses your loom
the way it's set up right out of the box.
Make sure the arrow points away from you.
Start by looping your border-colored band
from here to here...
Then continue straight up the side.
Finish with a band from here to here.
Then start at the bottom and repeat on the other side.
You're done with the border.
Now you're ready for Part 2.
Choose the colors for your starbursts.
Here we have green and blue-- it's up to you!
Loop a band from here to here.
Continue clockwise.
The center of your next starburst is here...
Loop bands in a clockwise pattern again
and repeat.
Notice where the centers of your starbursts are.
Now we're going to put on our capping bands.
Use the same color as your border.
Double a band and slip it on the top of this peg...
Then put doubled bands on the center peg
of each starburst.
Next step, Part 3: Hooking the starburst.
Now turn your loom so the arrow points towards you.
Start with a band that loops from this peg to this one...
You're going to take your hook and reach down and snag it.
Pull this band up and over the center peg.
Now, pull the other connecting bands,
one by one, up and over this way.
Move in a counterclockwise direction,
pulling the connecting bands up and over the pegs.
At the end, it will look like this.
Let's repeat with this blue starburst.
First, pull the connecting band up and over in this direction.
For the others, it's up and over this way,
moving in a counterclockwise position.
Repeat until they're all done.
It will look like this.
We're on the homestretch-- on to Part 4.
We'll start here at this peg.
Use your hook to catch this band.
Pull it through and hook it over this peg,
and continue all the way up this side.
Pull this one through and stop here.
Then, go back to the beginning
and do the same thing all the way up to this side.
Finish out in the same place.
Yippee!
Your bracelet is ready for the world.
Here is the final part.
Have a band the color of your border ready.
Place your hook here...
Reach down and hook one end of the band,
pull it through, holding onto one end.
Loop the other end of the band onto the end of your hook
and pull through.
Gently pull your bracelet off the loom,
rocking back and forth to remove it from the pegs.
It looks great!
Now we're going to add a few bands
so it's easy to slip over your wrist.
Start by turning the loom
so the red arrow is pointing away from you.
Take five bands the same color as your border.
Stretch them across the pegs, like this.
And then here, instead of another band,
you're going to take this end of your bracelet
and stretch it across these two pegs.
Turn the loom around so that the arrow is facing you.
Take your hook and pull this band through and over.
Continue down the line.
Stretch this last one over this peg
and add a C-clip.
Connect the C-clip to the other side.
Now your starburst bracelet is ready to show off!
Try different colors for fun looks.
