The Knowledge Center is the holy
grail for someone who has an
interest and a need in one industry.
The Knowledge Center is an online
research platform designed to
allow the user to search
and download any content from
a publisher's entire research catalog.
They get one service
that provides them with dozens
of additional reports at the
cost of what they were
purchasing 5 or 6
reports for. The
Knowledge Center was born out
of a need that customers came
to us and said 'all I do
is get this blob' of hundreds of PDFs every year.
I can't wade through it.
I don't know what I have.
Put it in the database for us.
The Knowledge Center came about
when we decided to digitize,
index and tag an
entire catalog of research.
We're talking about thousands of pages,
tens of thousands of pages, thousands
of data tables, many, many
figures and pictures from over a decade worth of research.
Knowledge Center is a collection
of every report every piece
of content that we have
published in each of our brands,
so that the entire collection
of Packaged Facts' content, from 1994
through today, is
available in a searchable
cataloged database that provides
access to data on food
and beverage, pets, consumer goods,
financial services, demographic information, for Packaged Facts.
This is very useful for people
who are used to buying single reports or single sections of reports
because it allows them the
flexibility of learning
the insights and data from over
a decade of research. I
think the biggest value is reassurance; knowing
that I have everything
possible in an entire collection
of Packaged Facts, say, or
within a vertical. All I need
is market research on food and beverage.
You have it. And
you have all of it
available at your fingertips and
you can search and rely
on that information and know what
you're getting is current also
because it's constantly updated.
A lot of our clients don't
know from day-to-day what the
question, the research question, is going to be before them.
So, instead of having
to search individually and purchase
individually reports on a daily basis,
this allows them to have
the entire breadth of knowledge
from an individual publisher, and
it allows them to search
and target individual pieces of information from that catalog.
It is a very complete
solution, and a very, very
efficient solution monetarily.
It gives people control over
their budgets. It's predictable spend,
it's on a yearly basis, there
is no variability to it, you
pay one price and you
use it as much as you want.
So in the past, they'd get all
these PDFs sent to their
inboxes, and now they've got
one database filled with
all of their data and they can
just take or pull out the slices or dices where they want,
whether they want to put it into one
of their PowerPoint presentations, send it to their boss,
send it to somebody in their market research department.
And it's been wildly successful.
