I am test-riding YAMAHA XT1200ZE Super Tenere (2014).
This is the outstanding motorbike although it is not interesting to say a conclusion from the beginning.
The reason will become clear from now on.
In existing adventure motorbikes, this is the most competitive motorbike.
Excelling in cost performance, I think that this is Best Buy.
Anyhow, this motorbike is highly efficient and the function is substantial.
Engine intake and exhaust are improved.
Horsepower output is 112 H.P. and maximum torque is 117 newton meter.
Aside from the output, tuning of throttle response is wonderful.
Traction occurs softly so that it may not interfere with the grip of rear tire.
Therefore, fear is not felt in bad weather like today.
Engine type is water-cooling, 4 strokes, 4 valves, DOHC, and 2 cylinders of parallel.
The greatest feature is a 270-degree crank.
As compared with 180 degrees and 360-degree crank, this is excellent in the traction performance.
Torque fluctuations add intermittent power to rear tire.
Therefore, it has had good influence on the grip of rear tire.
There are many other features.
The feature which should be observed most is electronic adjustment type suspension.
Suspension character can be changed with the switch at hand.
Now, the suspension damper is the softest.
It often moves and is pliant.
"Soft", "Standard", and "Hard"", can be chosen.
And seven steps of fine tuning exist in the each.
That is, there are 21 kinds of setup.
Preload can also be adjusted with a switch.
This is four steps.
Damper arrangement can be changed also in a run.
The arrangement was changed into "Hard" at once from "Soft." Road surface tracking changes dramatically.
When "Soft" is chosen, it is feeling of traditional large-sized offroad bike.
Selection of "Hard" will control motion of suspension.
In lane change, it is sporty feeling.

Yamaha D-MODE is in what is called power mode, and has sporty S mode and T mode for tourings.
Traction control can be set as "1", "2", and "OFF." This is secure in bad weather.
It has the electronic control unified brake and ABS of front and rear wheel.
Computer control of the relation between front wheel and rear wheel is carried out.
This motorbike is utilizing electronic control thoroughly.

It is cruise control. In a highway, it is convenient.
As comfortable equipment, it has the grip warmer in which temperature control is possible.

On the highway, the straight driving stability thought that it was good.
Caster angle is 28 degrees, and since wheel base is also long, this motorbike is stable.

I think that other makers' adventure motorbike is too stimulative.
Superfluously quick throttle response is not desirable. This motorbike taught it to me.

Throttle is an electronic control throttle called YCC-T.
This smooth and soft traction is the result of an electronic control throttle.
Probably, 270-degree crank is the result of pursuing the good influence on the outstanding traction and tire grip.

The steering response of this motorbike in a winding road reminds a traditional large-sized offroad bike.
However, if electronic adjustment type suspension is set as "Standad" or "Hard", they will not move vainly.
The negative character of offroad bike is controlled and a sporty steering response is obtained.
Another charming feature about steering is that operation angle is large.
The outer tube of the Upside down suspension is very thick.
However, maximum steering angle is equivalent to a common offroad bike.
The latest adventure motorbike has abandoned the off-road performance.
However, this motorbike does not neglect preparation of off-road run.
This is a real adventure motorbike.
I will report a dissatisfied portion.
The switches of the left-hand circumference are crowded.
If operation frequency is taken into consideration, the cruise control switch should not exist in a very good piece of land.

This tire may be sufficient if you are an on-road speciality.
However, this motorbike is preserving the off-road performance.
Probably, the real off-road rider was more glad if the off-road-oriented tire was given.
The price in Japan of this motorbike is a bargain price.
It may not become a eulogy to a high-class motorbike.
However, as compared with specification sheet of other makers' adventure motorbike, I have to say it.
If spring comes, I will test-ride this motorbike in off-road.
