The WunderBar is a starter kit for the Internet of Things.
A set of wireless detachable sensors and smart modules,
which can be monitored and controlled from your smartphone by the Internet.
It packs Bluetooth Low Energy, WiFi and includes SDKs for iOS,
Android and Node.js. It's as
easy as chocolate. Just break off a piece place it on anything you want
and start programming. So, make your coat rack smart with a proximity sensor.
Or keep track ofyour bike with an accelerometer.
Or even your office gnome.
I'm Jackson of the relayr team. That's them back there. We're here in Amsterdam
enjoying the city and working hard at startup bootcamp, Europe's premier
startup accelerator.
Here we're building wireless software and hardware tools for the Internet of Things
And here we develop the WunderBar, specifically with app developers in mind
The WunderBar is made of seven modules
The main module is fitted with an ARM Cortex M Microprocessor.
You probably have its big brother the A in your smartphone.
The microprocessor can connect to the internet to the wifi unit.
To communicate with the other six modules it uses Bluetooth Low Energy.
That's the same technology that's used in iBeacon it allows us to read the sensors
or battery levels on the other modules. It allows us to respond when a button is pressed
or light the LED's that are on every board.
All of the activity that happens around the WunderBar is sent to our platform
where you can easily access and work with the signals.
You don't need a PhD in electrical engineering, we make them accessible to you through API's,
frameworks and libraries. Our examples and tutorials
are designed to quickly bootstrap you into developing for the programmable world.
For example, you get easily distracted
well let the temperature sensor protect you from the shock of dangerously warm beer.
Or catch the team member who's constantly stealing the cookies
with the proximity sensor. Your CEO goofing off again?
Then control your home entertainment system from another room
with the infrared transmitter. And skip the sniff test
make diapers smart and get an alert when it's time for a change.
Help loved ones kick those dirty habits
or work together and share some sensor data with others.
Break it off, attach it outside and view temperatures around the world.
We made the temperature sensor publicly accessible
right out of the box, so WunderBar users can share data with each other.
So whether you choose public or private data
the Internet of Things is now open to app developers with the WunderBar.
Help us bring our working prototype
into production so you too can start building new smart apps.
It's as easy and fun as chocolate.
