Welcome to Scholars@Duke! This video will provide you with some basic information about
how to use the research networking tool that is based on an implementation of VIVO. To
learn more about VIVO you can click the VIVO link at the bottom of the page, but we'd like
to focus on Scholars. Before we get started I'd like to suggest that you use Chrome, Safari,
or Firefox as a web browser when viewing Scholars@Duke. You'll notice from the home page there is
a search bar located at the top right of the page. You can use this search bar to locate
faculty members, schools or institutes, research interests, or grants. Alternately you can
also click people, schools/institutes, or research. I'm going to go into Schools/Institutes.You'll
notice here there is a complete listing of all the schools associated with Duke. But
for a complete listing of divisions, departments, or institutes that are affiliated with a school
you'll need to click the plus sign located to the left of the title of the school. To
learn more about the VIVO project, Scholars@Duke, or, to find a help guide click the about tab.
You'll notice that there is information for Duke faculty and delegates, as well as for
collaborators. We have provided everyone with a users guide as well as a complete listing
of power users who are being trained to provide support to each and every department on campus. There
is also an option to submit a help ticket, although we would suggest that you first try
to locate a power user. We would also like to invite your feedback on Scholars@Duke.
You can click the we invite your feedback on Scholars@Duke link and submit your thoughts
through a survey. We will be providing additional tutorials, videos, and help guides in the
future.
