Huddersfield Fire Station Open Day
took place on the 25th of June this year
where we opened the doors at Huddersfield to all the diverse members
of the community within Huddersfield
We had lots of take up on the day - lots of people turned up
we had various stall holders and people selling their wares
we demonstrated the dangers of chip pan fires
high level rescues
we also cut somebody from a vehicle
in a simulated road traffic collisison
we also had plenty of entertainment for the kids
and people of all ages
we had the trampolines, bouncy castles and Freddy the Fire Engine
One of the great things about the day was the amount of money we raised for charity
this year we've presented £2000 for the firefighters charity
and a further £2000 for Marie Curie cancer care
I'd like to thank those dedicated volunteers
who worked hard to organise the event
and hope that the event will be even more successful in 2012
