Great! So you've received your free Grow Wild seed kit. Which is fantastic!
You'll need to get going...
So you want to choose a dry day in spring - April is ideal for sowing your seeds.
These weather conditions are perfect that we've got here today. And of course, you'll need your Grow Wild seeds - which are inside you seed kit.
5 packs of seed in here.
and each pack of seeds is enough to cover 2 - 3 square metres,
about the size of a double bed.
You got your basic equipment: You've got your fork, your rake and your spade,
and very importantly, you've got your watering can.
We're going to create a nice crumbly seed bed for our seeds to be sown into, germinate and thrive.
So we've dug our patch over, or forked it over, using spades and forks.
Vinny is just raking it over now to produce a nice crumbly surface - a bit like breadcrumbs.
And the really important thing is to dig out any weeds that might be in the ground,
because they will come out and compete with your seedlings.
So these nettles, we're getting rid of.
All you need to do is tear open the pack,
and inside you've got a nice little foil pack, which you can remove, just like so.
All you need to do is tear it open, nice and carefully,
the seeds are very small and you don't have many in each pack.
Pour it onto the palm of your hand, just like so,
bend down, nice and close to the soil
and very simply, just tap it onto the ground as you go.
Spread it nice and coarsely - that seed will go far.
And then last, but certainly not least, it's time to get watering your seeds.
Unless you know it's going to rain imminently.
So, with a fine rose, sweep the watering can from side to side,
so as not to wash the seeds away.
In your seed kit, you'll find some Grow Wild site markers.
When you've finished sowing, just pop them in the ground
Right, so you've sown your seeds. All that you have to do know is wait for them to bloom.
A tiny bit of watering, keep an eye on them
- because believe me, those seeds will not like it if they dry out!
and they'll be ready to flower.
