Now, during this meeting on investment and regional development,
President Park said... her pledge for an era of public happiness will be realized when
each region in Korea develops... according to its own unique characteristics.
Stressing how the local government and residents of a particular region know what's best for
their community, the president stressed... there must be a paradigm shift in which area
residents, not the central government, lead efforts to create regional development strategies.
In that respect, President Park said the new regional blocs... established through agreements
by local residents with similar interests... will better serve the goal of achieving regional
growth. She then added... for everyone in the country
to feel the effects of economic recovery, it's important to spread economic optimism
throughout the nation.
