Welcome to Two Minute Tuesdays. This is Jacki Kearslake from Dental Web
Strategies
and today we we're going to look at domain names and where you need to go
to buy a domain name for your Australian dental practice. Whilst I have my favourite
domain registar, in Australia we're really lucky:
there's a huge choice of places you can go to buy your domain
for your Australian Dental Practice. We've spoken about how important it is to have
a [dot] com [dot] au
domain extension. People here in Australia trust a
[dot] com [dot] a because it clearly identifies the business
as being a legitimate Australian business.
Where do you go to register your domain name? The best place to start
is to go to the website of Australia's domain administration body,
.AUDA. On the site you'll find a list
of all the accredited registrars here in Australia. At the time of
recording there are 39 organisations that are auDA
accredited registars. This means that they are authorised by the ADA
to provide services related to the registration, renewal
or alterations to Australian domain names. It's important to know
that Australian domain names vary in price, and this is primarily a commercial
decision
of the registering organisation. You will be able to register your domain
name for as little as 10
Australian dollars for a two-year registration: some of
the registering organisations charge as much as a hundred and forty dollars
for a two-year registration affidavit domain registration.
Here at Dental Web Strategies our favourite domain registrations sites are VentraIP, Netregistry
an GoDaddy. If you need any help
make sure you give us a call because at Dental Web Strategies, we're here to help
Australian Dental Practices become visible online.
