when your child choose where to live there's no magic age anymore in Ohio
when a child gets to choose
back in the day the ages 10 and then it was 12 and they changed back to ten and
then they got rid of it all together
the reason they got rid of it all together is children should not be
making these types of decisions
as a wall stands now a child's wishes and concerns about
where he lives is one of many factors that the court must look at
and doing about the court will
probably interview the child or have a child interviewed and look at
the child's adjustment and so on and so forth as a practical matter
the older your child is the more his wishes and concerns will control
as a child is older he's generally more mature me generally knows his own mind
it is a routine
and unless a child
is being bribed by a parent being promised a new car being promised cash
or this or that
pretty much as he's older and by and by that I mean fifteen or BR
what he wants will control the other side can always turn it into a custody
battle
but the child's wishes and concerns at some point
become very important
