My passion is Graffiti.
Especially when I can make something real.
I love creating thought-provoking things.
I love dedicating myself 100% to each project.
I know it’s a hard work. I often feel exhausted
and sometimes I want to let it all go.
But I don’t give up and always see my tasks through to the end.
I think this is Passion.
Barcelona is my love.
I got into it after the Champions League Final
in Athens when FCB lost 4-0 to AC MILAN.
and since that time I was stepping.
Since the beginning I’ve been all hyped up.
I could ask my mom to buy me a T-shirt with FCB logo in the marketplace
or on Wednesday, there was Ch.League in TV and D.Szpakowski was telling how much fun people were having on Camp Nou.
Polish passsion for Barcelona aroused in 2002, 2003.
Of course, before there were a lot of fans, who just like me,
fell in love with FCB after Wembley when Barcelona beated Samapadoria 1-0 with Koeman’s goal
or after many other wins of FCB on European stadiums.
There are plenty of 30 and 40-year-old people who are FCB fans
Despite what media say, polish FCB fans are not only those who grew up on
watching Ronaldinho or Messi and who started to support them in the final match in Paris when we beated Arsenal.m
Together with Maciek, we were finishing a project of the mural
on the stadium of the Univeristy of Warmia and Mazury
And it was so cool because in the sam time whe we was finishing that mural
my childhood friend called me
asking if I wanted to take part in the project to make a huge flag
for the match Lechia Gdañsk with FC Barcelona.
I knew it was a real challenge.
I definitely wanted to take part in it
to prove myself that I was able to make such amazing things,
such amazing projects..
By a twist of fate we switched from a small stadium in Kortowo
to a huge stadium PGE ARENA.
I was born in Olsztyn
and I love this city. I wanted to make this project with people who were also born here,
especially given that Maciek Gryko is in my opinion
one of the finest graphic designers in Europe.
We’ve been close friends for over 30 years.
Another guy I wanted to involve in this project as a great coordinator
was Adrian Frydrych.
person who is connected with "Wspólna Sprawa" organisation
he has already made in his life several projects like that.
We all met a month before the match
and I shown to them my visions of this event
and how I wanted to see it at the end.
They shown me their options
Afterwards, we just got down to work.
I was satisfied with the progress of works.
Of course, there occurred some problems, conflicts, stressful and unclear situations
dealt with them asap.
We have had to calmed down different problems and arguings in the meantime
here were moments of despair
It wasn’t a picnic?
we had to spend all days long in the hall,
starting very early in the morning and finishing late at night.
We used to enter the hall at 8 am and leave at 2, 3 at night
We were running out of paints at a rapid rate.
But it was cool to see step by step how our flag was gradually getting bigger.
how our flag was gradually getting bigger.
In half of work...It was hard
but we knew that each day we were getting closer to the final result.
We couldn’t give up.
This is called the real passion
everybody tried to do their best.
We were really determined
we had a deadline that we had to keep
because we didn’t want to disappoint people who put in us great expectations.
Two 30-metre-long seams
The last day of work...in the evening,
when everything was ready
and we were joining all the pieces of the flag together,
we got a call.
Barcelona cancelled the flight to Poland
due to the cancer recurrence of their coach.
As a result, there will be no match Lechia vs. Spanish champions.
There is an info that
The match will be cancelled, I don’t mean they don’t want to play
…actually, they do…
...but the coach’s illness…
...we feel really sorry for him…
We’ve just finished sewing the flag
we were supposed to roll and unroll it
when my fellow Piotr Olejnik called me
and said that the match was cancelled.
I can’t even describe what I felt that time
... what felt others.
We all were shocked.
We couldn’t believe that so much work was going to waste. But it was true…
so much work was going to waste.
It couldn't be true…
but it was ...
I quickly started analyzing the situation
and tried to find a solution.
If this match was to be cancelled,
we would try to show the flag during another FCB match.
It was really hard time for all of us.
We couldn’t believe
all our hard work would be wasted.
Yet, after some time
it turned out that the match would be postponed.
would be postponed.
We felt relieved
and happy that our work will be appreciated.
That was a big joy to us.
We had some time
to check the final result.
We were looking for a place in Olsztyn where we could unroll the flag
and see the actual size of it
but the weather
made it impossible.
We could only verify
if everything was nicely-made,
if there weren't
technical problems etc.
But still, we didn’t manage to see
the whole flag.
Therefore, till the very end I wasn’t sure
if everything was well-made.
I did believe in myself and in our team
but we had to wait till the match to see
the final result.
The day of the match, we had to roll the flag to make it possible
to unroll it afterwards on the stadium.
It was complicated because we needed a lot of people
to make such a roll.
Fortunately, there was a bus going to the match
across the Olsztyn
and 50 passengers helped us to make the roll
which was right well to put it into the truck
and technical preparement to show it at the stadium
It was 75-metre-long and the diameter was 30 cm.
When we entered the stadium,
the atmosphere was fantastic.
There were plenty of people everywhere: fans,
reporters, technical staff etc.
We had no time to waste,
just prepare to the show.
With the help of other common fans who were at the stadium earlier
we had to transport the flag.
The flag was so huge that over 20 people helped us.
It wasn’t an easy task
We needed to carry the flag and put it in the stand upper tier of the stadium.
The plan was to throw the flag down from the second tier.
There were a lot of people involved in this action,
most of them were just fans who wanted to see the show
and somehow be part of it.
Everyone willingly came and wanted to participate in that show.
Finally, the time has come.
We were divided into a few groups
and we all knew what we were supposed to do.
We just waited for the signal to start
The flag was unrolling like a big rug.
It was amazing.
The flag was really huge.
I was standing in the lower tier
and I just couldn’t believe that our small team
had made it in such a short time.
It was beautiful.
For me, this is a part of the passion.
THIS IS PASSION.
The choice of the characters wasn’t a random decision.
Messi is the best football player ever.
you can agree or not
but this a fact, he is and probably will be
the best one for a long time.
arles Puyol, in my opinion he’s the best FCB captain ever.
Johan Cruif, our legend,
for us he’s a great man
and a fantastic football player
who created a dream team.
And of course Pep Guardiola,
the best FCB coach ever.
