So one of the easiest ways to keep your art space clean, cleaning it, is preventing messes
in the first place. And we're going to cover several things you can do to avoid having
to grab that mop, broom or vacuum, or stain remover in the first place. The first of these
is involving your walls, and this is basically protecting your walls. If I have an easel
right here, I have a wall less than a foot away, art happens, messes will happen. You're
going to be here, and guess what, little paint splatters are going to be going all over onto
your walls. Now eventually you may even have to repaint your entire wall, which some people
do, but if you want to be a little more preventative, think about putting things on your walls which
are basically going to stop that paint from getting to the wall. There's lots of plastic
that you can get to put up on your walls. There's also wall liners, heck, I've even
seen people use painting drop cloths and tack them up. I'm not a big fan of plastic, but
that's certainly an option to go. Another way you can also use, are pictures. I like
using this. Oftentimes I'll have art projects that I'm working on so I'm going to want a
picture of them up anyway. So what I'll do is I'll tack them up on the wall and as new
ones come in I tack them up more, more and more. It becomes like its own little interesting
center for my space all in and of itself. What's more, whenever I'm painting and the
splatters are going over there, these guys are great. They catch it, they stop it from
getting to my wall, keeping my wall area cleaner than it would have been if it just would have
been the bare blue you can see right here.
