This video shows how the Triangulum galaxy M33, Andromeda M31 and the Milky Way are
situated in space.
The Milky Way is part of a local group of about 30 galaxies. Andromeda and the Milky
Way are the biggest. They orbit around a common center of mass similar to a binary
star system.
Here you can see Andromeda has smaller satellite galaxies "attached".
Here we are now back home at our Milky Way. It is a beautiful spiral galaxy.
A 14 million mile wide black hole lies at the center of our galaxy.
Our earth is located within the red box on the lower spiral arm.
It is 26,000 light years distance from the center. We revolve once around the center
every 226 million years.
