Hey guys, It's Berthen here.
So I made a video pretty recently just playing and giving you guys tips while I was in game
to help you guys get easy wins.
It was just a quick video with commentary so I thought it wouldn't get much attention,
but you guys absolutely loved it.
It got over 250k views, thank you by the way, and an amazing amount of likes so I thought.
What if I actually played a game trying to win, analysed it and tell you guys exactly
how I win every time.
I know, you guys are all saying, yo Berthen, that sounds amazing dog.
So that's exactly what I'm going to do in this video.
To start off, one of the biggest decisions you have to make is where to land.
Here's how most players decide.
Half of them will use their brain a little bit, and say, is bus going over tilted towers.
Then I go tilted towers, if not then I jump to closest big place.
The other half will say, I go tilted tower all day every time.
In this game I decided to land at greasy grove because most players will be going to pleasant
park and tilted towers because I'm actually trying to win the game and not play call of
duty deathmatch where I shoot a guy, then 5 other people rush me and shoot me in the
back, or even better, I land and get pistols and burst rifles while people one shot me
with their shotguns.
On the other hand.
Greasy grove was far enough from the bus pleasant and tilted towers that only one other person
went there, or at least that's what it looked like anyway.
I picked up three tactical shotguns which is kinda odd, I would actually love this loadout
if I landed at tilted towers, but it's ok because, my loot got a lot better since I
didn't have to fight bunch of other people for the loot.
I managed to get a great inventory with full shields and a weapon for every scenerio, which
is the beauty of not jumping to the closest place or tilted tower where you're probably
either dead by now or got low fighting other people.
Then what I'm doing right here is just getting to high ground and getting an idea of the
situation.
Awareness is the key to success in this game because 9 out of 10 times, the person who
gets the jump on you will win, and when you lose, you have to restart.
That's why taking a little bit of time to know what's going on is important.
You don't want pink sparkles to all of a sudden be on your butt one pumping you, that's never
fun.
Unless you're into that.
I saw that no one is running around and sneaking up on me but I knew there was at at least
one other person who landed here.
So when I go around to loot, I always go to the roofs in case I get caught, I'll have
high ground.
Which is exactly what's about to happen, I get shot but I have plenty of cover and high
ground because I'm on a roof, while the other player is shooting at me from the ground,
poor guy.
I felt kinda bad for him because he was probably new to the game, so I demolished him without
taking any damage.
Two things to take away from that fight is that high ground is insanely strong in this
game.
I was above him so I got headshots very easily and I could see him without exposing myself.
The second thing is the way I used crouch to be virtually invincible.
This works really well when you have burst weapons like the bolt action or the burst
ar because they need to go on cooldown after every shot.
I would start the fight crouching, then stand up to let out a shot really quick, then crouch
again.
He would see me for a split second while getting shot with heavy hitting weapons, then it would
happen again until he's dead.
It was kinda like whacka mole for him, except the mole has a gun and can shoot him really
accurately, not a game you wanna play.
Part #1
This is better than moving up and down becausue your crosshair can stay at about the same
place so you don't have to adjust it much at all and crouching moves your body up and
down a lot faster than moving backwards and forward.
Now I'm going to go ahead and speed up this next part because it's just me looting.
I looted very careful because that player wasn't the one we saw gliding with us.
So I'm still pretty careful of going inside houses, the way I loot is to just go around
on top of roofs and if I hear a chest I'll hit the roof and just loot it because if there's
a chests still there, then they probably are not in the house since they'd definitely try
to loot it.
I avoid going inside the house because someone could always wait around a corner to 1 shot
you and like I said, usually the one who gets the jump wins, so don't be getting pink sparkled.
I also make sure to farm for wood with trees that are near the outside of the city so there's
less angles for other players to shoot me from when I'm farming for wood which is very
important.
I always try to have a total of 400 materials so I can win fights against good players.
Another great reason for looting just chests is that when the storm is there, you have
time to leave while knowing you looted the best places which are the chests.
Now for this circle, I decided to go to the hill next to tilted towers because the safe
zone is there and I might actually be able to get to it fast enough to catch someone
leaving tilted towers since people tend to stay in tilted towers for a long time and
get a lot off good loot.
As I'm heading over there, there's three things that I do a lot that I notice people don't
do enough of.
First is jumping, notice that I'm constantly jumping around, this isn't because I'm some
hyper kid who can't help but smash all the buttons, well I kinda am.
But, I'm not scared to be in the open because on top of fortnite having bloom, you can jump
very high and fast in this game.
I know for a fact that when other players jump constantly and I spot them, I'll miss
my bolt action shot 90% of the time because I have to trace them moving forward, left
and right as well as up and down when they jump.
So I know that if I do this, most of the time, I'll dodge sniper shots that I didn't even
know was coming, a very big deal if you're trying to win every time.
The next is while jumping I'll constantly turn left and right to look around.
Again, this is an awareness thing, you want to catch people coming up on you before they
get the jump, but at the same time you want to keep moving forward.
This is where jumping and turning around helps.
If you jump, then turn, you still move forward, so you get to glance to the side real quick
without slowing down.
The last thing is that I will usually run to high ground, go around some of the edges
and look around.
This is the same thing I talked about at the beginning of the video.
This will prevent most flanks from happening because you can see if someone coming up on
you when you have high ground.
Do these things and you won't really need to hide in bushes or be really sneaky early
game.
You can just run around.
Part #2
I spot a guy in tilted towers, So I take a shot with the bolt action, he had shileds
so I didn't get the kill and he just went to cover.
I didn't chase him because he was too far, you gotta know what fights you can and can't
take, the bolt might've killed him so I shot, but I knew after that I couldn't get to him
unless I run at him while he's on a tower and he'd probably heal up, so I just dipped
since my position was also known after that shot.
Fortnite also activated it's trap card on me and moved as far away from me as possible.
So I made my way there way before the storm moved in on me.
I was really lucky that I didn't meet anyone, because you don't want to be slowed down in
this situation or else the storm will hug to death.
In fact, I even went as far as using two impulse grenades just to make sure and I still only
made it 15 seconds early.
A fight or two and I would've been in trouble.
So make sure to go to the circle fast when it hates you as much as it hates me.
When I was getting close to the circle, I saw a player but they were a bit ahead of
me so I didn't shoot right away and went to the top of the hill, built some materials
to fight them.
But they weren't around.
Then went on to another hill and found them.
I did something pretty crucial to wining the fight here.
This guy knew what he was doing with the jumping and high ground and he also built pretty well.
So I patiently waited for his second jump when I spotted him, so I could aim at where
he was landing instead of trying to catch him midair which is a lot harder and it woudl've
been a 50/50 chance of losing if I missed.
When you jump, you can only slow down your movement or keep moving forward, so the landing
is very predictable.
After I hit the shot, he built like a good player would so I didn't bother shooting it
down, plus the burst wasn't good at it anyways.
I built up and pushed him, so he had no choice but to fight when he was much lower than me.
So I got an easy kill.
lucky for me, he had a legendary RPG which is so good for late game so ofcourse I took
it over the pulse grenade.
Now this is the hard part of the game, people who made it this far usuually fall into 2
categories.
Insane players who have been going around shooting everyone down and getting a ton of
loot.
Or players who are really good at hiding which is pretty scary in it's own way.
So my strategy to win the at this stage in the game is to always go for the tallest place
in the game.
Then when the circle moves, go to the next tallest place.
This works because you'll always have the advantage over everyone else when you're on
higher ground so you can bully people close to you and then move to the next circle with
not much resistance.
The storm also moves incredibly slow at this stage so not going right away is fine.
I was already in the highest place so I'm just chillin and looking around.
I run back up and holy crap, a scary pink bear with an rpg appears.
I was so scared I switched to my shotgun twice without shooting, lucky for me they were scared
too and did the same with their rpg.
So I managed to headshot them.
This was a bit of a mistake by me here, I didn't stay in the high ground and if I didn't
go up before miss pink bear saw me, I would've died to the RPG for sure.
Part #3 So this time I stay in the highest place.
I notice someone and try to snipe them, but missed.
And notice that someone else tried to snipe me but also missed.
A lot of people mess up by hard peeking here and giving other snipers an easy shot.
I made sure to build cover before shooting, and when I miss, I jump around to not get
sniped.
And I made sure to not hard peek for more than a few seconds.
Hard peeking late game is a sure way to get sniped in the face because almost everyone
has a bolt action at this point.
And here I am doing the straegy, as the storm moves in, I go down to the next highest place,
build a fort, I have the top be bricks and hit both sides twice, this let's me pre-aim
through them because they're see through now.
And notice that whenever I take a shot, I do what I did in the first fight, I crouch,
stand up to shoot and crouch again.
It's very hard for someone else to shoot me down when I'm doing this.
You can also pre-aim on the top a little because of the weird crosshair being placed above
you, I tried it a few times but I suck with the bolt though so I missed all my shots.
Then it was time to move to the next highest point.
I make my way down to the side so the guy I was shooting at wouuldn't notice and then
I went pretty much right above him since he was so scared of me sniping him, he didn't
move at all.
I build up just as planned and I exploded his base.
I'm making sure to hit the lower floors here to make him fall down.
I also hit between walls so the rpg can hit more than 1 at a time and his base falls really
fast.
It's important in times like this to be aware that other people know where you are now.
So I quickly put down a wall towards the middle if of the safe zone and it instantly blocks
a snipe.
I leave the back open because they can't shoot me there unless they're higher than me.
So I continue trying to kill this guy.
Someone kept shooting at me with a crossbow from behind and this guy was hard to kill
in front of me so I rotate my stair and check.
Then the crossbow player backed off.
So I turn back around to finish off the guy but someone else sniped him and stole my kill.
It's ok though because now I have one less person to deal with.
I turn to the crossplay person and they did what I said not to do earlier and they hard
peeked me.
So I used the pre-aim though cracks on the wood floor technique and crouch peek sniped
them for a quick and easy kill.
Then finally I can deal with the person who sniped at me and stole my kill earlier.
I opened up the wall with a nice edit.
And surprise surprise, we have another hard peeker, a quick bullet to the head gets another
easy kill, guys, just don't hard peek if you wanna win late game.
Now it's a 1 on 1 situation and I know the last person can't be to my left and right
because I just killed those guys.
So I go down to loot and head to the circle.
I go to the open area because it's hard to deal with people in houses.
I exploded the giant base just so the last guy can't use it.
Then the circle moves to the open area so I plan my way there.
I make sure to shoot down this small whatever it is, in front of me in case they were there.
I thought I exploded the wall and cleared the inside but the house was tough apparently.
The last player popped out but it was ok because I was still careful and built above it.
Pretty standard play here.
I built up and looked for the enemy, rocketed them and won the game with another rocket.
Part #4
