The chimps at Whipsnade Zoo spent a few days cooped up inside drinking hot Ribena, due
to the gale force winds and torrential rain. But they have been let outside as the extreme
weather has eased to get into the mood for Valentine's Day.
Zookeepers dotted heart shaped boxes in trees. They had treats inside for the lucky chimps.
But it seems they haven't quite got into the valentines spirit of sharing is caring and love.
This chimp was not about to let any of the other chimps share his treats.
Barely even looking up. And no, he's still not interested in sharing. Probably enjoys
being single!
The group of chimps at Whipsnade are not breeding animals so perhaps that's why they're not
big on the loving feeling.
But in any case, they've enjoyed the Valentine's treats just as much as playing up to the cameras.
