I'm so happy that so many people
keeps watching all my old stuff
the way these characters were born
is simply through the screenplay
from people like Bava and Argento
even though my own interpretation
of the *** obviously
it's definitely something I felt mine
I was definitely inspired by famous pimps
from the movies I had seen as a young boy
somehow it's on homage to them
especially those from the American movies
sincerely I had no trouble doing these characters
I found it quite natural
there's a story in particular
when I get killed by the guy who has just become a demon
it was 3 of us hanging from a rope in the scene
when the guy is suffocating me
and we were given some green coloured yogurt
and in the excitement of the moment
this actor threw up all over me eventually
but I got it all in my mouth
and that was really gross
I still think about it today
lucky it was only yogurt
real puke would have been a lot worse
Italians have always been skilled in all departments
within the cinema industry
they'll always find a way to make a green vomit
but in a way that is acceptable by the actors
thanks God Italians are very creative
I'd love to interpret real life characters
I don't know exactly
ordinary people maybe
everyday life's characters
cooks, mechanics, porters
even killers maybe
you know what I mean
I think I'd be good at that
those are the characters closer to me
rather than an intellectual character
as a young man I did so many jobs to survive
somehow these jobs will come in handy
when it's time to get into character
one of these characters that you have been
at some point in your life
I'd like to be a character that is close to the people
rather than a fantasy character
which is definitely easier to portray
something that doesn't exist
yes I have had a character that made me struggle
it was a TV movie I remember
with a French director
I had this complex character
that is a Sovreign of an African tribe
he gets kidnapped and jailed
he mainly was an intellectual man
and eventually his people claim him back
and he goes back into power in the end
this was a difficult character to bring to life
even though I was told
the director was really happy with my work
first of all I was young
with great ambitions and aspirations
and ambitions can definitely be your drive
so that nothing looks difficult or impossible
becomes part of the game
there's been some real nightmare characters
but youth would come to the rescue
such a great thing
when you start acting as a young man like me
and I was lucky being the very first black Italian
to be in the movies
that drive made me want to make it
and despite all the difficulties I might have
I was so proud of myself
it's hard to explain
in the end you get over the hard times
and that's why it's cool
sometimes I end up watching my old films on TV
and I can't stop looking at that guy
as if it was someone else but not me
it's someone else acting there but me
I'm two people really
I really admire that young Bobby
