Hi, it's Lori. This is maker high. I am back. I have really great timing
apparently when it comes to YouTube. Good job me. Let's just skip over that and
get right to glue gun stuff so here are the questions that you had while I was
gone. question number one most
often asked question I get - how do I get the glue stick out of the glue gun?
Here's the answer - you don't, technically. You can but I advise against it. What I'm
going to tell you to do is if you want to change over your glue stick say you
want a glitter stick in there instead... finish feeding what you have in there
all the way through. Put the new glue stick in behind. Just wait for it to come
out the front. Use it like you normally would. Now, I know they're going to be people
in the comments who are going to argue with me and be like "I pull my glue sticks out
all the time" and that's a choice. That's definitely a choice that you could make.
The thing is that glue guns, if you watch my the video where I have the interior
of the glue gun, it shows that the glue sticks are only made to go one direction
through the gun. It's how the trigger is set up. It's how the feeder
is set up. It's not made for the glue sticks to come back out of the glue gun.
Do people just pull them out while they're still hot anyway? Yes, but if you
go down into the comments in a lot of the glue gun videos you'll see people
are like oh my trigger doesn't work anymore -
how can I fix it? Oh, there's glue stuck in the barrel of the glue gun and I
can't get it out and I can't feed my glue sticks through...and that's why is
they're not designed for the sticks to come out the back. Now, it might not
happen the first second tenth fiftieth time that you do it but it will happen
eventually and if you doubt what I'm saying go through the comments on the
glue gun videos because there are people who pull the glue stick out and then are
like"Oh no, now what do I do?" and generally my answer is " Buy a new glue
gun." I understand that it seems really, really wasteful to have to push the new
stick in behind the old stick try to get the old stuff out and I know it costs
money. I get it. Honestly, the best advice I have
is if you want to change over to a different kind of glue - but you still
want to use regular glue sticks is buy a second glue gun. I'll label mine. I think
that you've seen in some of my videos I have the big long white stick in the
back and those are Mod Podge melts which are basically really fancy expensive hot
glue - but that glue gun is specifically dedicated to those kind of glue sticks.
I've labeled it down the side in sharpie. So you know you - you can pull the
sticks out of the back. I HIGHLY recommend against it but people are
gonna do what they're gonna do. Alright, definitively answered! On to number two!
