One of the things that you'll see alot of are egg cups. For some reason there are an
awful lot of egg cups out there to be found and they are very inexpensive. Another thing
that's not as difficult to find are honey dishes. The small little honey dishes and
the small little compotes. These are fairly inexpensive, you can find those pretty much
without any problem. When you get into compotes and covered sugars like this you can find
them but it's more difficult to find them without any chips and in perfect condition.
So be aware that you are going to pay more money for a covered sugar, in New England
pineapple that is perfect as opposed to paying for a covered sugar that’s missing the cover.
When you first start out, you get excited to find a piece like this, but as you go along
you're going to want to try and find a complete piece. I would recommend that you try to find
the complete piece and invest in that because overall this is going to hold its value much
more than a sugar without its top. So that's just an example. The goblets you can find
pretty much. Horn of Plenty, this one right here, very desirable pattern, a little more
expensive. The goblets you will find will vary, anywhere from $30 up to $300 depending
on the pattern. So there's a huge variety to choose from. That's something to consider
when you're going to pick out a pattern. Whether or not it's an affordable pattern for you.
So that's where I would say it would be great to start; take a look at the pattern, take
a look at the price range of each item and see if it's something that you can afford
to do and feel like you can buy the best pieces you can buy. That would be my advice if you
were going to start to choose a particular pattern, and the rarity of the item, and the
price.
