Another great feature of the Xyron Creatopia is the ability to cut paper into strips or
to size using the Cutz component. When you receive your Xyron Creatopia, it comes with
the permanent Refill and the Refillz component already installed in it. To put the Cutz component
in, I will show you how to uninstall these components and then install the Cutz component
itself. First, make sure the tray is in the upright
position. Using the positioning bar and the positioning button, move the bar into position
three to open up the rollers. This allows you to easily remove the permanent adhesive
cartridge. Now that the cartridge is removed, I can push the positioning button one more
time and get the component into the second position. Using the component buttons, I'm
going to simply unlock the component and lift it out of the machine.
Now that those are set aside, I'm going to take the Xyron Creatopia Cutz, slide it into
the component track until you hear both of the positioning buttons click and lock into
place. I can now put the tray down and I'm ready to go.
Your Creatopia Cutz unit will come with a guide wheel, a straight blade and the clear
stabilizing bar. To cut a piece of paper, simply install the guide wheel. We are going
to use the arrow side forward and place it pretty close to the right side of the machine,
near the crank handle. I'm going to slide that lock into place and when you hear that
click, that's how you know that the piece is engaged.
I have the straight blade and I can put that anywhere across this 12 inch area. I'm just
going go around 3 inches and I'm using this arrow to make sure that it's lined up on the
Cutz ruler; clicking that into place. Sometimes, it's best to just give it a quick roll to
engage the blade into the rolling bar. Now I can slide my paper in. I'm aligning
it with the right side. I'm taking my clear stabilizing bar and sliding this up until
it locks into place. Now I can simply start rolling my paper through the Creatopia machine
and I've made a really quick strip of paper. In addition to the straight blade, Creatopia
Cutz has a wide variety of blades available for it. There's scalloped, wavy, deco, postage
sample. I'm going to use the postage stamp design very quickly today. I'm going to put
it back in that three inch position. Lock it into place and give it a nice twist. I'm
going to use the same piece of paper to save the tree and I'm going to slide that into
the machine. I'm just lifting the clear stabilizing bar up a bit just to slide the paper in and
then I'm just going to slide the paper through. Now you can see a three inch piece of paper
with a decorative edge on it. It's really great for doing 12 x 12 papers,
cutting it down into different widths and putting it on top of other pieces of paper.
You have card you can make. I just have to fold it and I have a nice decorative card.
If you are doing a project where you need some strips, you can cut a bunch of uniform
strips with decorative edges. The Xyron Creatopia Cutz is really a versatile tool for every
scrapbooking project you may have. For more information on Xyron Creatopia Cutz
