by fellow leaders of member countries as he hosted the most recent meeting of the Economic
Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Istanbul. There, participants from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan,
Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan convened
with goals of continuing to improve living standards for all in the region. They concluded
by signing the Istanbul Declaration, which highlighted greater prosperity through sustainable
growth as well as a further easing of trade restrictions and enhanced transportation and
communication. The declaration also called for member nations to improve their relations
with the United Nations and other international organizations, while emphasizing resolution
of disharmony through peaceful diplomacy and international law.
Our accolades and admiration, Your Excellencies of the Economic Cooperation Organization,
for your fruitful meeting. May Allah grace your magnanimous goals with abundant benefit
to the people of all your nations.
