Now when we say tight is right early in a tournament, we're not talking about tortoise
versus the hare type thing. We're talking about someone who is type B versus type A.
Personally, maybe it's my own premise because I am type B. But I would rather be a type
B in a tournament than a type A. I want to be someone who can have the stamina to sustain
in a tournament long term. I also want to be a creative person. Now let's look here
at another scenario. We've got dealer, small blind, big blind. The dealer looks down and
the dealer has a pair of jacks. Well, that's a pretty good hand. For some reason he only
puts in the minimum raise. Wow! You know, minimum raising in a tournament, it's not
a very good idea. You think you're gonna trap your opponent. You're going to trap yourself
most of the time. Here is the small blind. He looks down at ace king. Inexplicably he
only calls.
