Hey Guys! So Oishii!Project bootcamp started up again, and just to cut to the chase
this week we were told to make a "How To" video.
and if you haven't already guessed from the title, I am doing a "How To" video on how to make sort of a sewn lip appearance
great for Halloween, Cosplay, pretty much whatever you want to use it for. And I guess let's get started~!
Ok, so first you're going to want to get the color thread that you want for your stitch. I am just using a generic black,
but you can use any color you want.
What you're then going to want to do is you're going to take a large amount of thread and just cut it.
Then you're going to take what you just cut off and you're going to connect the ends together. So you're just folding it in half.
You're going to make a simple knot at the very end of it to keep the thread together.
You're then going to do more knots all the way down the thread till you reach the end. You don't want the space between each knot to be too
small or to large, but I will say it is easier to make them accidently too large. A good way to get an idea of what size they should be is hold
the thread up next to your lip and just use that as a referance.
After you have knotted your thread you're going to want to cut them into little segments
You're going to want to cut on the outside of the knots so that way each segment will have a knot on each end
Ok, so what I'm doing here is I'm taking the segments that I cut out and just sort of putting them on my face to just see which ones are
longer, shorter, and how they should be placed exactly
Now it's time for the glueing. What I'm doing is I'm just using regular Elmer's Glue and I'm putting the glue on a Q-tip.
Basically what I'm doing now is I'm taking one of the segments, putting it on my face and sort of trying to line it up as best as I can to the spot
where I want it. Then you take your Q-tip that has the glue on it and just dab the very top of it
So, in regards to glueing, especially with regular Elmer's Glue, you're not going to want to put it flat across your skin because when it dries it will
become really noticable and flaky looking, so in order to make it less noticable I'm just putting a little dab of glue where the very end of the
segment is. Just so it's not that noticable
A quick note, you don't have to put your little thread segments up and down like I am
I am just practicing for my "Kurloz" (Homestuck) cosplay that I'm doing later in the fall.
But if you want, you can make your thread a little bit longer and you can do "X"s or "Zigg Zaggs". I'm just here to say you don't have to do
it exactly the way that I'm doing it.
This next part is optional but it is definately something that I recommend doing
What I'm doing is I'm taking a little bit of black liquid eyeliner and I'm just sort of making a dot at the end of each little segment
Just sort of giving the illusion that that's where it is coming out of the skin. To me, if you just glue it on it looks like it's just sort of laying flat
against your skin. If you have the dot it just makes it look like it's popping out, I guess.
And that's pretty much it. Just take your little segment of thread, add some glue, and then stick it to your face.
Right now this is just kind of a plain look, I don't have much makeup on, but I know just 'cause I've already tried it out today, if you add other
kinds of makeup, like if you want to add some bruising to where the stitch ends or some fake blood, just giving it some more details,
it definitely looks really really cool, I promise, and I just hope this works for you~
