I am working here in NAB as it's administrator for the past twenty three years.
Our institution has been providing vocational training from the past twenty three years for the blind, dum and deaf people who are educated upto the10th class.
The main aim of our institution is the economic rehabilitation of the disabled.
This institution is running a course which is ITI - SCVT certified.
We help in securing employment for our students who have passed out from here through our employment and training center.
479 students have taken the training course from this institution.
Of them, 70% are employed and leading an independent life.
This institution started in the year 1989.
We recognize the necessary requirements for their employment in today's industry...
and give the necessary training.
We are mainly training them in the light engineering field...
in filling and fitting jobs, electrical works, mat making, screen printing and coil winding.
I request the donors through this website to donate and help in the growth of this institute.
My name is K.M Puttaraju
I was a student in the same institute from 1989 to 90. As i procured good marks...
I was offered the post of a trainer in this institution.
I am working as a teacher from November 1990.
Here training is given to the blind, deaf and dum people for an year.
I teach mat making, thread making, recaning etc for the students here.
From this training especially the blind people get benefits to greater extent as it gives them a chance to lead an independent life.
It is a little difficult to teach visually impaired students because first we have to give them the objects to touch and feel...
and then explain it for two to three times to make them understand.
Teaching practicals for visually impaired is little difficult. But for deaf, it is easy.
These children are equal to any body. They even put extra efforts and produce more than the normal human being....
without showing their disabilities and are employed in various industries.
Hence the training we are giving is very beneficial for these children.
I am very happy working here.
When i joined here, there were only visually impaired students.
As I am blind myself,i could understand their feelings well and was able to teach them efficiently. I am very much satisfied with my work.
From the past ten years we have started admitting deaf people.
At the beginning it was difficult for us to teach as we had to learn how to speak to them...
but now we are bonding fine and everything is going on smoothly.
Every deaf person who has passed out from here has been placed
and there are a lot of job opportunites open for these people.
We dont have sufficient number of students to meet their requirement.
This demand is because they work very well.
There is a demand both in the small scale and large scale industries for our students.
I feel very proud when i see a student from here being independent because of our training...
and not becoming a burden on the parents and the society.
