A shooting at a Marine Corps Base in Virginia has reportedly left three Marines dead, including
the suspect.
“It all started with reports of a shooting on base around 11 p.m. Authorities found one
man dead. … the suspect then barricaded himself inside a barracks building … That
set off a standoff with authorities.”

“Officials believe the suspect is a staff member at the officer candidate school at
the base. The two others killed were also Marines.”

During the standoff authorities announced a lockdown across the base using a public
address system. Everyone was ordered to stay in their homes with the doors locked until
early Friday morning.
When authorities entered the barracks, they found the suspect dead from a self-inflicted
gunshot wound along with a second victim who is believed to be female. She was also deceased.

Officials said in a press release the suspect and two victims were active-duty Marines and
their identities will not be released until primary next of kin notification.
