quite healthy so it's quite surprising to me good morning let's begin with
the most toxic unfortunately these are the things that we tend to consume a lot of and

dairy products especially for kids which i think we'll talk about can form a
lot of mucus in the system so this is one of the things as a naturopath we
try to avoid
high fructose
this is corn syrup actually corn syrup is hidden in a lot of different
foods especially packaged foods and it's very high in the glycemic index meaning
that it actually spikes your insulin levels and this can be really *** the
pancreas and salmon
i know this is the surprising one salmon can be toxic because of mercury levels
and unfortunately p_c_b_'s that if it's a farm salmon
they're putting p_c_b_'s into the feed that they are feeding the farmed salmon so
again something that we know is a healthy food i always say in moderation
you can still have salmon certainly freshwater freshwater yes exactly wild salmon is the best
is there a healthier type additive or
I know here they described it as a heathy toxin quote-unquote
does it existed a good toxin
some toxins we consider healthy if it's going to detoxify your system so if
you think about which seems odd if you get something like food poisoning if
you've had a toxic digestive tract for a period of time
if you actually get food poisoning we know what happens everything sort of
flushes out that this can actually be like a good time for a cleanse it is like
a cleanse and certainly there are things on the market that you can take
detox formulas that help especially this time of year to cleanse out your system now
what are the most nutrient rich foods that we should be taking in a lot more of
so what i usually recommend the height or act containing fruits and
vegetables so these are
fruits and vegetables that naturally can
work on free radicals that were exposed to in our bodies it
something that was studied in the u_s_
so anything that has the dark rich colors deep colours beet bright purple
carrots kale which is highest on the orac scale for all the vegetables
as well as brocoli of course red peppers if we take a look at the fruits
we have pomegranate as well as grapes apples all the berries we know are great
because of their antioxidant properties as well and what did you bring along here in
terms of supplements if you can't take in as much fish because it's got the mercury tuna
you say is even worse you suggest
a fish oil supplement so this is vita fish oil
and as well there are concentrated fruits vegetables that are encapsulated
now so vita fruits and vita veggies veggies and this is from vita tree nutritionals
and this is fantastic because even if we tried to eat these fruits and
vegetables which we should be probably on a daily basis it's really hard to get
it all in so if we're taking the capsules that just makes a
lot easier to get the serving size i really do want to adress the kids they get sick
and they get sick often this time of year what are the causes
and what are we doing wrong as parents unfortunately it is the sugar
the wheat the dairy which kids tend to love and they tend to eat a lot of
so not totally avoiding these things and minimizing it in their diet does make a big
difference
as well as there are ear excercises we can do for chronic ear infections ear
exercises can you show us one i can demonstrate on you so basically what we do
is five moves all together we pull back on the ears at the top
we pulled back on the ears and we pull down
and we push that little thing called a tragus on the ear that makes
the ear sort of pop
and then you just masage down the neck so just as quickly as you just did it
just like that parents can do that twice a day its really easy to do and it's a as a
preventive
but also a treatment is actually having infections is everything moving and flowing
