In this video, we will show you a unique and beneficial vinyl application.
When we think of vinyl, we often think of vinyl letters or sign decals. But you can
also use vinyl for many other uses, including wall décor or window coverings.
Many homes are built with windows on either side of the door like this one. The windows
are great for letting light in, but also provide a straight view into the house during the
day and night. Using vinyl on the windows is a decorative, easy and inexpensive way
to maintain the natural light, but eliminate the privacy issues.
In this case, we are using plain frosted vinyl; however you can have your vinyl etched with
any design for a more sophisticated look. Starting with freshly cleaned windows, we
will spray the window with our Vinyl Magic Application Fluid. You can also spray the
back masking paper to make it easier to remove from the vinyl. Peel down the masking a couple
of inches, and line up the vinyl at the top of the window. Now, take your squeegee and
firmly press down on the vinyl. You always want to press down and out. If you start to
see bubbles appear, or don’t have the vinyl on straight, the application fluid will allow
you to peel it back up and start again. Keep repeating this process until the entire piece
of vinyl is applied to the window. Now use your squeegee to firmly press in all
the sides. If any vinyl is overlapping, you can take an xacto knife or razor blade to
cut away the excess. In just minutes, you can use vinyl to provide
a decorative new look to your windows, that also ensures privacy. And if you decide to
remove the vinyl in the future, simply spray it again with the application fluid, and the
vinyl will easily peel off. As always, if you have any questions, please
give us a call. I’m Beth, thanks for watching!
