GE FXUSC Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com.
Today we’re looking at the genuine GE FXUSC. This is a set of cartridges, consisting of
two 30 micron, polypropylene spun sediment filters. They are an industry standard size,
approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means they will fit into
a whole variety of under sink drinking water systems; including, for example, the popular
Culligan HF360. They are GE filters, and they are specifically
designed for variety of GE drinking water systems, including the GXWH01C and the GXWH04F.
They are NSF Standard 42 certified, and GE internal testing verifies they will capture
sediment just slightly larger than a speck of milled flour at 30 microns. If you have
finer sediment, you probably need to move to a cartridge that has a fine porosity of
about 5 microns. This filter is perfect for untreated water
because it’s manufactured from polypropylene, which is bacteriostatic; meaning microorganisms
cannot live and grow on this filter media. It’s also good in treated water scenarios.
Filter life is going to be approximately 300 gallons or three months, whichever comes first,
and your water conditions will have an impact on filter life. If you have a lot of sediment
and you use a lot of water, you’ll probably go through these cartridges faster than that
300 gallon, three month rating. Again, this is the genuine GE FXUSC, and I’m
your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com. Thanks for watching.
