Your BISSELL upright vacuum is designed to give you the performance you need to quickly
and easily clean your home. And to maintain peek performance, it's important to regularly
inspect and clean all three filters on your BISSELL upright vacuum cleaner.
After unplugging the vacuum, check to see if the dirt cup is empty. Next, check the
pre and post motor filters for debris. Dirty filters can restrict air flow, resulting in
a loss of suction power. If your filters are dirty, they may be washed in cold water with
a mild detergent. However, please note that the white, HEPA post-motor filter is not washable
and will need to be replaced if clogged.
Once all washable filters are dry, they can be re-installed in the vacuum. If you are
still experiencing a loss in suction power after cleaning the filters, check for an obstruction
in both the upper and the lower hose. If there is an obstruction, use a broom handle to push
the obstruction out of the hose. Never use a sharpened object, such as a straightened
coat hanger, to remove an obstruction. As this may puncture the hose.
If there are no obstructions in the hose, check for cracks or holes in the hose. Also,
check to make certain the hoses are firmly connected to the vacuum.
Clogged filters and obstructions within the upper or lower hose are the most common reasons
for a vacuum to lose suction power. By cleaning the filters on a regular basis and removing
any debris from hoses, you will ensure that your BISSELL vacuum operates at it's peak
level of performance.
