The Titan III is a robust gantry that will quickly process a variety of metals -- including
steel, stainless steel, or aluminum in thicknesses ranging from sixteen gauge up to eight inches
thick.
The Titan III utilizes both plasma and oxyfuel cutting technology along with optional features
such as a drill, beveler, laser and a variety of marking tools for superior cut quality.

The Titan III is a rugged, high-performance cutting machine, and it's built to consistently
perform time after time in your shops rigorous fabrication environment. It's a star performer!
The Titan III is built tough for long shop life. Machined longitudinal crane rail supports
heavy loads. The large diameter wheels reduce inertia and provide easy movement.
The y-axis uses machined linear ways to provide strength and accuracy. Bearing blocks give
the machine a simple yet rugged system for the carriages.
Rack and pinion drives on the y-axis provides both long life and increased value. State-of-the-art
pitch line engagement on both the x and y axis gives you smooth motion, quieter operation
while providing longer pinion and gear rack life. This coupled with superior torch suspension
gives the smoothest delivery of the torch to get the maximum performance from high definition
plasma systems.
The Titan III is designed with a heavy-duty beam. The front beam supports the processes
and is completely separate from the back support beam. This keeps any weight transfer isolated
from the process beam.
Carriage stations are bolted directly onto the y-axis to keep the carriage as close as
possible to the beam. This provides the best suspension and part accuracy.
A long life continuous loop, tensioned stainless steel band runs across the face of the beam
with each end secured to the master carriage. The Titan's band drive mechanism and the design
of the rollers are self-centering to eliminate the need for special guide rollers that can
cause excessive wear on the band.
The Titan III has individual clamp and lock cylinders for torch spacing. This gives you
the most accurate torch spacing available.
Cables on the Y-axis and X-axis are completely enclosed in a power track to keep all the
cables clean, safe and secure.
A specially designed gas assembly and manifold system bring the gases off the top of the
beam to a shielded area behind the beam for protection.
These cables inside the beam are protected with heat shielding against the high temperatures
created below the beam.
Messer's engineers have designed the control box into the endtruck. The cpu, controller
and drive amplifiers are enclosed in a safe and air-conditioned location in a sturdy endtruck
cabinet.
This endtruck is a heavy-duty, wide design with extra
strong ribbing to enhance its strength and stability.
Guide rollers are spaced out for maximum rigidity on each end of the truck.
The Titan III uses digital AC Brushless Servo Drives to
provide reliable, high-speed operation and excellent speed regulation over the entire
speed range. They are pre-set and require little maintenance.
Near "zero backlash" engagement of the robotic planetary gearboxes combined with excellent
acceleration ensures repeatable, accurate axis positioning.
The x-axis has pitch line engagement. The rail is machined with a step, so when the
gear rack is bolted on the cam rides on the machined surface.
To maximize gear rack life and the best possible motion, the drive power module can be precisely
adjusted --using pitch and yawl. This optimizes pinion gear-to-gear rack alignment, offers
longer life, smoother motion, lower noise, and a better surface finish on each cut part.
An optional "Rack and Rail" cleaning system uses a nylon rotary brush that is located
inside both ends of the endtruck plus an air purge system that is automatically activated
when the machine is in motion to keep the machine rail and drive racks clean. By being
integrated into the endtruck no additional rail length is required.
The Titan III is available in multiple widths from six to fourteen feet wide and lengths
from six to one hundred fifty feet to meet your productivity needs.
You get high-speed positioning with up to twelve hundred inches per minute for consistent
cut part quality.

The Omniflow Automatic Gas controller is integrated into the Global Control Plus providing automatic
setting and regulation of the cutting oxygen, preheat oxygen, and fuel gas pressures for
oxy-fuel cutting. No look-up charts need to be referenced. Just set the parameters and
the Omniflow does the rest.
With the Titan III you can pick from a variety of processes to do both cutting and marking
of carbon steel, stainless and aluminum. From sixteen gauge
up to eight inches thick in mild steel and up to three inches thick in stainless and
aluminum. Multiple processes mean both versatility and increased productivity.
Choose from conventional or precision plasma, oxyfuel, laser, marking tools or a drill.
Up to eight torch stations may be installed on the Titan III, of which two can be plasma.

Our conventional plasma systems give you the power to increase productivity, reduce cutting
costs and increase your profitability. They deliver exceptional cutting speeds, excellent
part cut quality, and reliability.
Precision plasma systems such as Hypertherm's precision plasma produce HyDefinition cut
quality at half the operating cost. One system can now produce virtually dross-free parts
in mild steel from gauge thickness up to two inches. The HPR800 has the same capacity in
mild steel but allows for piercing up to three inches in aluminum and stainless, plus "edge
starting" up to six and one-quarter inches.
If need oxyfuel, you can choose between the ALFA or TurboFlame oxyfuel torches.
Messer's ALFA Oxyfuel cutting torch is the latest innovation in oxyfuel torches. It has
patented magnetic height sensing integrated right into the torch, that is unaffected by
slag or scale. It has internal ignition and it even has the ability to sense right to
the very edge of the material. Plus, changing consumables is quick with no need for tools.
The TurboFlame Torch is very versatile. It can be used with all fuel gases and is very
safe to operate. Oxygen consumption is lower which reduces the cost of operation. This
is achieved without any loss of cut quality or cutting speed. The TurboFlame Torch is
ideal for heavy production and when coupled with the Smart-Lifter - it's designed to operate
in the harshest of shop conditions - offering fast reaction time and smooth motion.
The Titan III utilitizes Messer's latest Smart-Lifter technology that features an exclusive combination
of optimized parameters to maximize productivity. This lifting technology utilizes an extruded
aluminum enclosure with ball-screw accuracy. The Smart-Lifter has a breakaway magnetic
torch collision system to help protect the torch. Parts can be cut faster the Smart-Lifter
reduces the up/down time between pierces. An adaptive initial "height sense system"
learns the thickness of the plate to further reduce cycle time.
When you have thin material, a Fiberblade Laser provides the best quality, cycle time
and cost per part. It's speed and quality are equal to a CO2
laser at a third of the operation cost since no laser gas is required -- this greatly improves
your profitability.
Need to do beveling with either oxyfuel or plasma? Then outfit your Titan III with our
""Global Rotator Delta" which accurately cuts bevel profiles on nearly any contour.
Messer's Omni Bevel Software makes programming the rotator a breeze. Simply input your CNC
part, click on those parts needing a bevel cut, fill in the desired angle and the correct
parameters are automatically inserted into the part program. You're ready to start cutting.
To eliminate secondary operations and maximize profitability, your Titan III can be outfitted
with a two horsepower Drill spindle. Drill up one-half inch diameter holes in mild steel
upto one inch thick. When the drill is activated, hold down clamps push down on the plate during
the cycle to continue processing the part.
Torches can be spaced manually or with Programmable Torch Spacing. This feature allows values
to be put in the part program that will automatically space each carriage to a specific location
along the "Y" axis.
To find edges or locations - use a Laser Pointer or our digital video camera as an alignment
tool. Capture points along the edge of the plate to align the part program to the same
angle as the plate. Each simplifies set-up, reduce cycle time and eliminate scrap.
The Titan III can also be outfitted with two markers.
Choose from an "Inkjet Marker" that provides fast and quiet alphanumeric labeling along
with line and contour markings for bend lines and feature locations.
"Air Scribe Marker" which uses a reciprocating pin to mark on mild steel, stainless and aluminum.
"EZ Flow Powder Marker" for semi-permanent, easy to read marking using Zinc Powder.
"Pneumatic Punch Marker" for impact marking of layout lines and hole locations on thicker
material.....or the "Arc Writer Plasma" marking system to provide high-speed plasma marking,
scoring and punching on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum at speeds up to 300 inches
per minute.
The Titan III can come with the "Slagger" zoned and ducted exhaust table. It pushes
slag from the table bottom to a collection point at the end of the table. Plus it has
excellent smoke removal from a series of ducted zones that open only at the cutting machine
location. Dropped parts can easily be retrieved and
the table cleaned efficiently.
