- [Foxen] Did you just see Kirito die?
So what's up guys, Foxen here.
The newest trailer for SAO season three was just released.
Yes, this time it does include animation for season three.
I was actually one of the lucky ones to be in the SAO panel
here at Anime Expo, where this debuted.
So, I got some juicy info from the producer
and Kirito's voice actor.
If you haven't seen the trailer,
a link to that is below, check that out.
Once you're super excited, bounce back here.
There's a good chance you're gonna be confused as hell.
Just, what the hell is going on?
Why is Asuna so worried?
Did Kirito just get taken out?
Whose the blond guy?
Whose the blonde girl?
You got friggin' dragons now.
Oh wait, we've already had those.
The Soul Translator, Underworld, Fluctlight?
What are those?
Let me go ahead and explain what the hell is going on.
Keep in mind, I'm not going to get into full major spoilers.
This is really just giving you a tease
and I'm gonna cover what the set up is for SAO season three.
First off, I do have to mention
the gorgeous, beautiful animation.
A lot of you were worried after seeing
Kirito and Eugeo's design in the past poster.
This trailer killed all of that, which I love.
They are sticking with the more updated style
that they used for the Ordinal Scale movie
which was really top quality.
At this point, I'm just hoping they can keep it up
for perhaps a 50 plus episode series.
In the trailer, you also had so many new words
being thrown around.
Let me take a stab at that.
First off, they mention the Soul Translator.
The Soul Translator is actually a more advanced
fourth generation FullDive machine.
Unlike the original NerveGear and the successor,
this one doesn't connect to the user's brain.
It instead connects to the Fluctlight.
What is that?
Think of this as your direct consciousness,
so pretty much, your soul.
What you get is much deeper type of FullDive experience.
At this point, the new VR board has direct access
to the user's memories.
According to Kirito, this is perhaps more real
than even real life.
So anyone that thought perhaps the stakes were lowered
without being able to die in game, well, that is back.
If anything, your favorite characters
are in even more danger.
That being said, what's an Artificial Fluctlight?
Picture this Artificial Fluctlight
as a digital clone of a person's Fluctlight,
except, this happened at birth.
This pretty much means that this life,
instead of being born in our world,
grew up and lived their entire life in this VR world.
Recall just how much closer Yuki was from being in VR
much longer than Kirito and Asuna?
This is that, only just on a whole different level
in comparison.
The trailer also mentioned something about
new hyper realistic AIs.
At this point, the line between human
and AI starts to get blurred.
What is a human?
Is there even a difference at this point?
Next up, what is Underworld?
Everything you saw in this trailer,
is taking place in this new VR world called Underworld.
It's a VR place created by the Soul Translator,
which, you may have already guessed,
it's set in this medieval fantasy world.
So, who knows, perhaps Kirito will run into Kasuma
or Sabado somewhere in there.
Just stay away from the witches
and definitely don't talk to any useless goddesses.
Next up, what is this Taboo Index?
What the hell happened to Eugeo's eye?
Honestly, this is getting super deep
into the Underworld's lore.
Let me go ahead and oversimplify it.
Every resident of the Underworld is forced to obey
certain rules and laws.
What are these laws?
Well, there's quite a few.
It's actually more important to know
that they come from this world's church.
But let me give you a taste, committing crimes, forbidden.
Hunting certain animals, forbidden.
Entering this area without permission, forbidden.
Kissing someone on the lips, also forbidden.
Going against the nobles, of course, forbidden.
I think you have an idea of where this is going
and what this means for this world,
pretty much, a bunch of BS.
I'll take the Axis Church over this any day.
In the trailer, you did see Asuna here.
Still, I see a bunch of people worried about her.
Don't worry, she still is in season three.
Although, her role is much more bigger
in the second half.
By the way, don't you think that Kirito and Asuna here
look a lot older?
At the end, you also have a line from Eugeo.
Something about waiting for Kirito for the last six years.
To be honest, both of these scenes
are actually pretty major spoilers.
In fact, the whole trailer
is major spoiler one after another, just in a rapid fire.
Who knows, perhaps its fine if you don't know what it is.
Maybe I'll cover this in more detail in a future video.
Anyway, you also have a pretty sweet visual out too.
This is showcasing Kirito, Alice and Eugeo.
Also I've seen a bunch of you wonder
who the hell are these two?
Just know right now they are people
who grew up in this new Underworld VR world.
They're going to be Kirito's new best buddies.
I did also mention getting exclusive info
from the Anime Expo SAO panel, let's talk about that.
First off, Yuki Kajiura has been confirmed
to coming back to do the soundtrack for SAO season three.
This is friggin' awesome.
You could actually already hear one of the new songs
in this newest trailer.
There was a question about whether she was returning,
since Yuki recently left her agency.
Thankfully, those worries have now been deleted.
During the panel at Anime Expo,
we actually did get a script reading for the first episode
from Kirito and Alice's voice actors.
It was really just a taste for season three.
You can basically hear Kirito and Eugeo playing around
when they were eleven year old kids.
The whole scene ends with young Alice coming into the scene,
which is perhaps the biggest thing.
Ai voicing young Alice sounds a bit
like Shiro from No Game, No Life,
only imagine Shiro speaking more formally
and with a lot more emotion.
Right now, there still is a question about the length
for SAO season three.
Unfortunately, no confirmation yet,
except more hints given at the Anime Expo panel.
The producer that was there reconfirmed again
that the entire Alicization arc would be animated.
He emphasized that this would be a very long journey
for them and us.
Right now, I'm really thinking that this arc
is going to be split into two parts.
So, you can have SAO up until 2020.
From Kirito's voice actor Matsouka,
he added that this arc would be the longest one yet
and it would be filled with a lot of deep moments.
Light novel readers, you know what's up.
Keep in mind that a full adaption for this Alicization arc
would need 50 plus episodes.
I'm really hoping it's closer to 60.
If they adapt this right, the story and season three
could be on the level of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
So, let's pray they do it justice.
Anyway, more important, let me hear from you.
Question of the day, are you even more hyped
after seeing this SAO season three trailer?
How are you liking that quality animation?
Was anyone here completely lost after watching the trailer?
Anyway, if you love SAO, smash that thumbs up and subscribe.
If you're new to the channel,
you can watch five plus anime videos here every week.
I'm a huge fan of the series, so I'm covering anything
that drops for SAO and especially SAO season three.
Right now, I'm planning on doing a full review
on the SAO GGO spinoff.
Check out my past videos on SAO season three
and the SAO movie, and I'll see you guys later.
