Jeffrey Huff, assistant professor of computer graphics and programming at Missouri State
University-West Plains, was recently honored by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon with the Governor’s
Award for Excellence in Education. The recipients were selected for effective teaching, innovation
in course design and delivery, effective advising, service to the institution’s community,
and commitment to high standards of excellence. In nominating Mr. Huff for the award, his
peers at Missouri State-West Plains praised him for his “students come first” approach.
They also said his teaching style keeps students engaged through assignments that emphasize
a “hands-on” approach.
Mr. Huff has spent 12 years with Missouri State-West Plains teaching computer graphics
and programming courses. He began as a per course faculty member and became full time
in 2001. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Technology and a Master
of Science in Administrative Studies from Missouri State’s Springfield Campus.
On the court to congratulate him are Missouri State President Clif Smart and Missouri State
University-West Plains Chancellor Drew Bennett. Ladies and gentlemen, please acknowledge the
