Where is OU?
OU is in America’s heartland.
Right in the center of the state of Oklahoma.
OU is located in Norman, Oklahoma,
which was recently picked by Money Magazine
as the sixth best city in America to live in.
I’ve heard about the stereotypes of Oklahoma before,
but when I got here, it’s better than I could ever imagine.
Norman has all the benefits of a big city like festivals, museums and restaurants
Not to mention that Oklahoma City is 30 minutes away
where I can catch an OKC Thunder NBA game.
OU’s campus has it all.
I can’t believe that there’s a world class art museum
right here on campus that has
paintings from Van Gogh and Monet.
There’s also a natural history museum
which has some of the largest and oldest artifacts in the world.
OU is even large enough to have
a U2 concert, right here on campus.
I thought the university might be too big,
but I always see somebody that I know when I walk to class.
I’ve connected with many faculty and staff members
and I've made lifelong friends here.
The campus has a great traditional feel.
Every year there’s that first gorgeous day of spring
when the sun shines on the Cherokee Gothic architecture
and everything starts to bloom.
The only word to describe campus is beautiful.
OU’s campus is like one huge park
for everyone to enjoy.
. I love to watch my friends playing sports
and hanging out in the South Oval.
OU has the best of both worlds.
With less than 19,000 undergrads,
we are one of the smallest universities in the Big 12 Conference.
But we still have the same opportunities and resources
that you might find at a larger university
without the overwhelming size.
It’s small enough that people know my name
and I get personal attention in and out of the classroom.
Almost every building on campus
seems like it was built just yesterday.
Since President Boren’s arrival, almost
$1.5 billion dollars in construction
has taken place here on campus.
Every semester, OU starts building
something bigger and better.
They’re constantly making improvements
to student resources, facilities and programs.
I’m jealous of the students attending OU after me.
Campus Corner’s the best.
Three blocks of great food, trendy shopping
and it’s the perfect distance to walk from campus.
On the weekends, everyone hangs out at Campus Corner.
It’s a great place to get away and relax.
As great as Campus Corner is,
there is nothing better than the OU cafeteria.
I never would’ve imagined
that I would still look for times
to go back to the caf., it’s that good.
Growing up in a small town in Oklahoma,
I heard about OU all the time,
but I didn’t know if I would fit in.
When I started looking at colleges, I knew nothing about OU.
Now it’s home.
I’m so glad I decided to visit OU when I was in high school.
I found the place that has everything
I ever wanted in a university.
You have to come see if for yourself.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
This is home.
This is my OU.
