Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. My name’s LaShun Perry, a program assistant
with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and I’m here to tell you why
I am so HUD. We’re focused, we’re collaborative, and we’re knowledgeable. We’re the new
streamlined, strengthened learning organization. That’s why we’re so HUD. I’m going to
tell you why we’re focused. McKinsey and Company, they came in to give us relevant
information on risk management, risk mitigation, how to do our jobs better, understand our
processes of business process management. We came and became collaborative through our
software upgrades and then thanks to Office Communicator, our online systems where we’re
able to collaborate and talk and understand exactly what our business intelligence is
and what we need to be focused on and committed to. We’re more knowledgeable through research,
through PD&R, through the newsletters, we have been committed to change and focus. Let
me tell you why. Our jobs are needed. People are dealing with housing and foreclosure.
People are dealing with neighborhood stabilization programs that we provide, grants and to the
cities and states to provide for their people and organizations. We’re here to bust through
these silos, through bureaucratic tape, to understand the needs and knowledge of the
American people so we can be out here in the forefront focused and fighting for them and
justice. We thank you for your time; we thank you for your patience. Those employees who
are seasoned, those who are new, those Presidential Management Interns – you’re here with
a job to do, and we’re committed to doing this job. We have a valuable and talented
organization, and we shall not be moved because the people need us. They need decent, safe,
affordable housing. They need drinking water, some brownfields that we deal and clean up
with, and I just want to again thank you for being a part of this great organization. My
name’s LaShun Perry, I’m a program assistant with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development. Thank you again for calling. Bye.
