you know in the TV world they always want you to do an opener. They want you tell where
your at, were in Pike County, Illinois, Famous! They want you tell what your doin. We're hangin'
on the side of a hickory tree, hoping we don't die.
They wan't you to tell how your hunting. With smoke pole.
They wan't you to tell why you set up here. Only place we knew to go.
But, you know We. . .
I'm just gonna share something. We play a game, called the complain game.
We complain because the hunting spot ain't good enough.
We complain because were in a hickory tree instead of an oak.
We complain because the music isn't what we think it out to be in the church.
We complain if it's too hot, we complain if it too cold.
We complain if we run out of soda. We complain if we run out of candy.
It's real easy to play the complain game. But you know what? I'm blessed!
Got a good friend behind the camera. Got a good friend that's letting me hunt his
ground here. And uh. . .
There's a lot of people who'd like to be doin' what were doin', so who are we to complain?
These veterans give their life on a foreign land, so I can hang on to this old hickory
tree this morning. There's friends of mine in then hospital with
cancer, would like to be handing out here on the side of this old hickory tree.
So who am I to complain? Who are we to complain?
As Americans, were blessed! I've been to foreign countries, I've seen
how they live. We're blessed.
So just think about something this morning. I don't know if this will make Television
or not. But would the world be a better place, if
instead of complaining, we counted our blessings? Would our schools, and our neighborhoods,
and our government, and our schools would be a better place? Instead of complaining
all the time, if we looked at the positive. Instead of seeing the glass half empty, we
saw it half full. That's what I'm gonna do today, I'm just gonna
sit here. If the good Lord sends a deer my way, He sends
a deer my way. If He doesn't, I'm in Pike County with a friend.
I'm blessed.
