Hello my Name is Antony Nelson and today I'd like to demonstrate for you Smooth IPA.
Smooth IPA is a piece of software which helps streamline the iOS application development
process.
The software is available to download from one of the links provided in the comments
section of this You tube video.
In this video I'm going to weigh up the pro's and con's of using either Xcode or iPhone
Configuration Utility to deploy iOS applications to iOS devices though Smooth IPA.
In order to use Smooth IPA you need to have either Xcode or iPhone Configuration Utility
installed on your computer.
If neither of the applications is installed on your computer you will be provided with
a link to download either of the applications.
Smooth IPA is tested and known to work with Xcode version 3.2.6 and iPhone Configuration
Utility version 3.4.
If Smooth IPA is unable to find the application on your machine, you can tell it that it is
installed. The operating system will provide you with a dialog box to identify the location
of the application.
Both of these applications are available free from apples website but the current version
of Xcode version 4 requires a paid subscription.
Xcode version 3.2.6 is unable to deploy iOS application to devices running iOS version
5.
The advantage of using Xcode is it gives you access to messages on the devices console.
iPhone configuration utility version 3.4 is able to deploy applications to devices running
iOS version 5. However version 3.4 of iPhone configuration utility appears to be less stable
the earlier versions.
If you are using Xcode to develop iOS applications it may be advantageous to use the iPhone configuration
utility to deploy the applications this will prevent you from having to use automation
on the software which you are authoring the application in.
If you find this application useful please buy me a beer and I will send you an unlock
code and keep you informed of any updates to the application.
