Hello, I'm Frankie, and I'm joined by Marcus -Hello. And Caspar. - You alright.
We are here at Stubbers Adventure Centre, in Upminster, Essex.
To meet a load of young people who are on week two, of their NCS programme.
That's right. We are going to see what they have been up to, and Marcus and I are going to have a hero off, with the help of St. John's Ambulance.
Bring it on!
You ready guys? Let's do this!
Guys… Come on!
The main purpose for this week is to, really learn some important skills, that they wouldn't necessarily learn in school.
They're taking part in a first aid course, even though it is quite a serious course it is a good laugh as well.
30 chest compressions, on the beat of staying alive.
What is the most useful thing you have learnt? Resuscitation. I can save someone's life now, and be a hero. - Be a Hero!
They're coming together, they're doing stuff they didn't expect to do.. They're enjoying it, and it's great.
I think it is definitely worth doing, 'cause it helps you with skills later in life, if it need, if a crisis does happen.
At first, it sounds a bit scary, like, doing everything on your own and meeting new people.
but as you get thinking about it you just kind of realise that it's a good experience, and that it looks good on your C.V.
What advice would you give, to anyone who was maybe thinking about participating in NCS?
Whether you're an outdoors person, or you prefer say, working with the community, this course combines everything.
It has everything to offer for you. - Everything.
By the end of it, they have gained a lot of confidence and they really believe they can achieve something.
Not just in the community project, but for the rest of their lives, and their career.
Now if you're wondering why Marcus and Caspar are wearing these lovely gloves,
It is because we are about to do the first aid challenge.
The one who does it the quickest is the winner, and the loser has to do a forfeit, which is going to be decided by you guys,
On the NCS Twitter. So... guys, are you ready? - Think so.
Audience, are you ready? 'Wooohh' [Crowd Cheer]
3, 2, 1, [horn noise]
Sorry team.
Like that, big end, long end. Like that?
Go, go, go, go..
Boom. [High Five] We have a winner.
Team Marcus! 'Woooh' [Crowd Cheer]
I'm disappointed in myself, I guess.
Bye. Bye.
So Team Caspar are going to have to do a forfeit, yet to be decided by the twitter community
So we have had loads of fun, met some really inspiring people, and learnt some valuable techniques,
but the highlight now, is going to be watching Caspar, get chucked in the lake!
You look pretty beautiful right now. - Thanks Marcus.
Don't forget to subscribe, and sign up to NCS.
How am I meant to get in?
Wooo!
Caspar Lee, let it be known, that on this day, in this lake,
having lost the bandage relay, it is your forfeit to be chucked in the water.
No, no, no, no.. Do you have anything to say for yourself?
Any last words? I love sleeping!
2, 1, Go! Ahhhh! [Splash]
NCSYES! [Crowd Cheer]
That was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life.
