Today we will make Sama chawal kheer.
This kheer can be served during fast or vrat and tastes awesome. It takes very little efforts for making this kheer.
Let’s see what ingredients are required for making Sama chawal kheer.
Sama rice - ¼ cup (40-50 grams) (soaked)
Dry Sama rice appears like this, very small granules of rice
Sugar - ¼ cup
Cashew nuts - 8-10
Raisins - 15-20
Green cardamom - 3
Milk - ½ liter (500 grams or 2.5 cup) (full cream)
If you don’t eating cream then use toned milk for making kheer.
Firstly boil milk for making kheer.
Meanwhile cut cashew nuts, peel and crush cardamom to make powder.
Before pouring milk in utensil make sure you wash it because there
are chances that milk may get burned if the utensil is kept dry.
Stir milk after every 2-3 minutes.
When milk starts boiling, add soaked Sama rice in it.
Keep stirring the kheer after every 2 minutes so that it doesn’t stick to the base.
The moment rice becomes soft; add all dry fruits to it.
Rice has become tender and soft; now add sliced cashew nuts and raisins to it.
Cook kheer for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
Kheer is ready and got a thick consistency.
All ingredients have blended nicely.
It takes minimal time to prepare this kheer. It hardly took 20 minutes for making this kheer.
Now add sugar as per your taste and cardamom powder in the kheer.
Turn off the gas and cover kheer for 2 minutes so that the aroma of cardamom gets dissolved in rice nicely.
Kheer is now ready. Take it out in a bowl.
Garnish with almonds.
Sama chawal kheer is ready and taste awesome.
