What’s up guys John here with accessorygeeks.com.
I’m gonna go over this new segment which is actually wanna show you how to root and overclock Motorola Droid X.
So we have the Droid X right here running 2.2 Froyo
And what I’m gonna do, the sensory on your USB bugging mode obviously.
Since it’s a major steps in all rooting procedures.
I’m gonna go ahead and proceed on to alldroid.org and download a program called root my X2.exe.
The program located at the bottom of the first thread right here.
I’m gonna go ahead and put the link to this actual thread within our descriptions.
So please you know, expand on that part of our youtube videos, see if you can download the program.
So I have the program already installed at my computer.
I basically just extract it on to my desktop.
And what I also did was downloaded the Motorola USB drivers.
And that’s gonna be a key thing that you’re gonna need to download to make sure this works correctly.
To do so I just google Motorola mobile phones USB drivers and I drag here
And you just proceed to the download like any other program.
So from there I’m gonna go ahead and proceed to my desktop.
And this is the program which I already have opened right here.
And as you can see it’s pretty straight forward.
So What I’m gonna do know is I’m gonna connect our Motorola Droid X to the computer
And I’m gonna proceed from there, so here’s the Droid X, gonna unlock it and here we go USB connection...
Connection detected. And this gonna pull up some random verizon vcast website, but everything is there.
Another thing I have the connection on, I think charge only.
I've heard a couple comments where you have to cycle through which USB mode just for the phone to detect.
Charge only or actually media sync or pretty wolf me. You might see my different results.
if you have a any questions just message me in the comments and I’ll try to help you out the best I can.
So once the phone’s hooked up, you go anywhere here, and we’re gonna hit root me and should locate the device.
Here we go.. see you guys, I’m zooming.
On such a process can take up to 5 minutes, this is true, it actually does take almost close to 5 minutes.
Just be patient and want to complete at all give you the ok to download the root program...
to test the phone and see if it works.
So I’m gonna go ahead and cut the video off.. ups never mind!
As you can see that was quicker than in 5 minutes. And once the phone reboot we’re gonna take up that.
We have vcasting again.. pull my root and here you go.
It says look for Ninja Apps or try to run a root apps.
So that’s whole 5 minutes process was actually a lot shorter than expected
So what’s we’re gonna do, here is our droid X.
And the root program that I like to use on a lot of the videos is shoot me which is the screen capture apps.
Which you need to be rooted to run it. So I’m gonna go find the program.
Hit shoot me, he accepts and we’re gonna hook to see if Superuser access.
Here we go, Super user request , we’re gonna hit allow.
And rooted Motorola Droid X running Android 2.2 Froyo.
So that’s gonna be the first step.
I’m gonna go to the next step, so you can overclock the phone.
Until next time or until the next video.
This is John from accessorygeeks.com reminding you. You got it from a geek.
