Interviewer: You get to play both fun and comedic scenes, as well as
the serious scenes. Which ones do you like better?
Misha Collins: Oh, I don't know. I like them all.
But it's funny, people often say to me, how do you. Because Cas has a lot
of sort of dry humor, like he delivers very dry comedy, a lot of the time.
And they say, 'How do you deliver those lines with a straight face?'
And the answer is, 'I don't. I'm terrible at it, and I usually ruin about ten
takes laughing, before they get one that they can use.' But we all have
a tremendous amount of fun on the 'Supernatural' set. There's a lot of laughing,
and we kind of, I think, love shooting all of the material that we
do. I like both the comedy, and the more gritty drama stuff that we do, and
there's a lot more good, comedic material to mine this year, as Cas
is beginning to explore what it's like to be a human.
Interviewer: I just want to congratulate you on the little mini-market
scene.
Misha: Oh.
Interviewer: Where he was trying to make up with Dean.
Misha: Yeah.
Interviewer: And buying all of...
Misha: By shopping.
Interviewer: ...his favorite things.
Misha: Yeah.
Interviewer: That was just brilliant and...
Misha: Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
Interviewer: ...our readers really loved that scene.
Misha: And now Cas is having to do that for himself. You know, for the
first time Cas is having to go out and buy food, and you know, figure out
what item to select from the vending machine. And all of these really
petty, minute details of being a human become big issues for him to deal
with. So, yes. Poor Cas. He's a mess.
Interviewer: In a sense, you're not necessarily the best of friends
with Dean right now. How are the three of you going to be playing things
out at the beginning?
Misha: Well.
Interviewer: Are you going to be together, or will Cas be on his own?
Misha: You know, we start actually, geographically separate. You know,
there was a time when Cas, if you know, Dean called on him, Cas could pop
over with the blink of an eye. And now, he has to find money for bus fare,
and take a bus, and it just takes a lot longer. So they are actually
separated geographically at first. And then there are a lot of angels that
are pursuing Castiel as well, so he's not a great guy to have hanging
around, because he brings with it this entourage of evil. So there are
logistical difficulties in the relationship at the beginning of the s-
