Is it bad if a cat's nose is dry?
I know how you'd know if a dog's nose was dry, given how often they nose you and lick
you. I don't get why you'd care about it in a cat.
I wonder if there is something wrong with her.
Most pets, dogs and cats, have moist noses. However, they aren't always going to be dripping
wet.
Unless the pet has been getting a drink. Does a dry nose mean the pet is dehydrated?
It might and If you're concerned, go check the water bowl.
When would a cat's dry nose be a sign of a real problem?
You should be concerned if the pet is peeing and pooping a lot more than usual, since that
means the dehydration is due to illness or another medical problem.
I'd be more concerned about the peeing and pooping than the dry nose.
You should also be concerned if the pet has wheezing, coughing or other signs of a respiratory
illness.
I've heard of dogs sneezing. I've never heard of cats doing it.
If the cat has any respiratory problems and a dry nose, take it to the vet.
The respiratory symptoms would be the cause, not the dry nose.
A cat could have a cold and still have a wet nose.
What else would I want to know?
If the cat is vomiting a lot, take it to the vet. The dry nose in that case is a sign of
dehydration.
So is the vomiting.
And any pet that has a dry nose on top of major weight loss needs to see a vet.
And that's a sign of dehydration, too.
Or the cat just may have spent too much time in the sun, getting dehydrated. And the solution
is so simple, just close the windows.
