People ask us all the time what it's like working together as sisters because most say
they could never work with their sibling but, we love it and we are really different. I
manage product development and global training, definitely the perfectionist in the family.
I do have a tendency to get mired in the details but when you are working with clients like
Apple and Facebook and Microsoft the details matter.
I am on the other side of the business focused on our custom solutions. What really keeps
me up at night is making sure that are our offerings are mapping to our client's needs
and that we are constantly listening to their challenges and pain points.
Working with your sister is definitely not for everyone but we share a lot of the same
core values that are parents instilled in us. I mean sure we were like any other siblings
we would argue a ton. But our parents always told us "You are on the same team". So we
learned quickly to work together to solve problems as sisters and now as business partners.
Ya I mean now we relish the idea of going on a business trip and sharing a hotel room
because we talk work, we talk life, we talk family, we talk work again and kind of all
blurs together, but it's fun.
A while back we discovered a major disconnect in business communication. Business professionals
are responsible for presenting critical information to management, to customers, to stakeholders
and they were lacking the ability to effectively use presentation technology to tell their
story.
We do a lot of virtual meetings and we train our customers, now virtually we don't always
go into a classroom to teach them. Working virtually has had a profound impact on our
business as women, as entrepreneurs and as mothers. Working virtually has allowed us
to reach more customers globally as well as really attract new talent that we otherwise
never would have had access to. It allows us to a better work-life balance and still
do what we love. It's really changed the way we work.
Success to me is about listening to your customers, staying current and being relevant. And I
would add it's about management and growth of a healthy company and keeping check of
what's really important to us, which is our families.
We really do consider ourselves lucky to have our amazing families and such a powerful team
at TPC. The company culture at TPC is based on a team of highly motivated, hard working
and incredibly smart people. We work hard and we play hard. And I think our customer's
really appreciate that about us. They see that we are real people who don't hide the
fact that we have real lives outside of our work. We are so passionate about what we do
and honored to be making such an impact with our customers, our community and our family.
We are sisters and we are The Presentation Company.
