Last I checked, peas and carrots do not change the color of your hair. If your hair color
is changing, there's something in there that's changing it. I believe that, you know, the
companies right now are allowed to use words such as "soft" and "gentle" and now it's turning
into "natural" and, I wouldn't say I've seen hair color go organic, but I've seen a lot
of words on boxes that contain these bottles that then you have to mix together and, I
just, my right away feeling is that if I'm mixing these things together and this one
has alcohol and this one has this, it's not exactly natural. In my opinion, the one natural,
natural hair product there is, is henna.
They come in just a few colors, compared to, you know, full lines that maybe L'Oreal and
Clairol make with a million colors. I don't know exactly how many colors henna has, but
there's just a few choices. Here in the United States, the henna instructions read: Apply
to your hair for approximately, let's say, around 45 minutes to an hour. In my travels,
I've learned throughout Morocco and India, that real, real henna stays in the hair for
days, and days, and days. I feel like there is a natural hair color and it is called henna,
but I'm not sure how our henna here processes in so much less time than it did where it
was created. It tends to take a few times to actually get the henna results that you
desire. Sometimes you need to apply the product every few weeks in order to get that grey
coverage you're looking for, that color change you're looking for.
And, interestingly enough, as difficult as it is to get in the hair, it's even harder
to get out of the hair. Yes, it's natural, yes, it's great for the hair, it's not drying,
it's not weighting the hair down. Henna is a great product, but there are a lot of things
to consider, and I think the major one is how difficult it is to get out of the hair,
and how difficult it is to change your hair color after. I recommend that if you choose
to go the henna route, you choose to do it, and then when you're done, you need to grow
the hair out and just kind of snip off the ends.
