Hi I'm Sheryl Plouffe I'm a national TV broadcaster and a video marketing expert for rising star
entrepreneurs to take your business to the next level and create celebrity status around
them selves online with video. So today I want to talk about video equipment specifically
for your smart phone. How many of you don't go anywhere without your smart phone? Me.
I go nowhere without it. I discovered along the way that there are some Key pieces of
equipment that you can purchase on a budget which is a bonus that allows you to turn your
smart phone into what I like to call and consider a mini mobile HD video kit. So that no matter
where you go you'll always have the capability of producing excellent quality video with
your smart phone. Smart phones are good enough in and of themselves but if you want to take
it to the next level there are some things you can buy to really make it sing. This is a snapshot
from one of my free PDFs that I give away and this is the part about turning your smart
phone into a mini mobile HD video kit and I put little images here the equipment you'll
need to do it and what I recommend. Starting off on the top left a multifunction tripod
this one here and again everything here is found on Amazon it's not difficult to find
but that particular multifunction tripod I really like it's $15 what I like about it
is that it has different functionality so it's a tripod it can be a little desktop tripod
it can also be a mono pod there's a Remote and it also has an adaptor to clip your smart
phone into that's what holds your smart phone in place it's a multifunction tripod and it's
inexpensive and it's fantastic and easily accessibleon Amazon. The second thing and
I think the most important thing and really the best value is a clip on the LED light
this one here it shows the image there are different versions of this different types
this is the one I own I like it because it also has a USB plug-in so you can plug it
into your USB port and charge it but it's a light that has three different levels of
light you clip it onto your smart phone and it serves as simply the best thing I've ever
bought in fact I want to buy a couple more and keep them round my house and my office
and such. The smart lav microphone option number one on the bottom left I own this one
and it's OK. I found that the app that goes with it is not the easiest to use The lav
mic itself I really like the concept. You plug it into your phone and then clip it on
it's a Lavalier microphone meaning that it's the type that you clip onto your lapel and
when you use the app with it it gives decent sound there's another option I've provided
here with the microphone option two which is the Mikey blue microphone this one here
is showing the lightning adaptor so that's for the newer phones obviously you can get
one well maybe it isn't obvious there is one you can get with the older type of adaptor
for iPhone for example. So for option number two I personally like this option better but
I wanted to give you two options there. I can't recall the prices you have to look online
to see what they are it's called like Mikey blue microphone. The third microphone option
on the right is one that serves a different purposes. Those students of mine that have
home-based or office-based studios where they are creating videos for YouTube and for Facebook
and longer form videos not just status updates I suggest this microphone for them this is
what I use personally to make my YouTube videos what's great about this is that if you use
it with the adaptor that one at the top there the U-shaped one you can actually use this
microphone both ways. You can use it with your smart phone and you could also use it
with your digital camera, DSLR camera that you're using at home to create videos it serves
a dual purpose so for that reason it may be a good option for you. This is an audio Teknika
ATR 3350 and it's I think $30 and the adaptor is $25 so for less than $55 you've got yourself
an amazing dual purpose microphone it gives you amazing quality. So there you have it
it's really not that complicated or that expensive just a few key pieces of equipment that you
can have on hand to help you create quality video out on the road when you're mobile I
know for me I am often at the ballpark or at the hockey rink and there are times when
I could be creating videos if I'm so inspired. What I would suggest you do get yourself a
little cosmetic bag-get something cute OK? And then put all of the pieces of equipment
in it and keep it either in your car or in your purse so you always have it at the ready.
