Hello and welcome to Better Bicycling. I came across an article on the Evol Burritos so
I thought I would give them a try you know. A healthy burrito, how knew.
Usually I would grab a banana or a couple of cookies or something but the cookies crumble
in my pocket and the bananas I already eat 1 or 2 everyday anyway so I was looking for
a fast snack that I could turnaround and get back out the door.
First I tried the Gluten Free Shredded Beef burrito for lunch. It was quick to make and
tasted very good. I slightly over cooked it and hat made the tortilla a little dry but
the taste of the beef, pinto beans, rice and corn were great. It was very tasty but not
too overpowering with spices. Then later, I as I was getting ready for a bicycle ride
I tried the Cilantro Lime Chicken (6 oz) that was really good too. It hit the spot and it
gave me just enough energy to go off for a nice long bicycle ride and not feel hungry.
Both of the burritos cooked really fast actually because I had left them in the refrigerator
so that they where thawed. The 6 oz burrito, the kind-a larger one, I nuked for 22 seconds
twice and turned it over in between the heatings. The 3-ounce burrito, the smaller one, I just
nuked it for 20 seconds and that was perfect. It was warm on the inside and the tortilla
was still nice and soft.
My plan is to get a bunch of these when I shop and then toss them into the freezer.
And then each day I'll take out the one that I want to thaw so it is ready for a quick
nuking when I get home. That's the plan.
I found mine at King Soopers in the frozen burrito section. I'll try this new after work
/ before my ride thing for a while and see how it works out and let ya know OK.
Well cheers for now and Better Bicycling to you.
